v INTRODUCTION The Datalogic DLL2020 is a high perform ance omni-direct ional scanner, which provides opti m al sc anning condit i ons . Together with its compac t and ergonom ic design, operator fatigue and other disc omf ort s are less than any com petit i ve om ni-direct ional sc anner.

GETTING STARTED 1 1 1 GETTING STA RTED 1.1 UNPA CKING T HE DLL2020 Take t he sc anner and its acces sories out of the box and remove all packing mat erials. Refer to the pack ing lis t in order to ens ure that you have recei ved all the i tems ordered.
DLL2020 2 1 The various parts of the DLL2020 are: Sleep mode sw itch : I f a sleep m ode tim e-out has been programmed, the sc anner can be reacti vated by pressi ng this switch. The sleep-m ode feature can be program med us ing the Software Configurat ion Guide part number 90ACC1620.
GETTING STARTED 3 1 1.3 SCANNING BA R CODES W ITH T HE DLL2020 15 cm The DLL2020 i s an om nidirect i onal s canner feat uri ng a 4-di rec tional s c an field with a 16-li ne scan patt ern. Bar codes can easily be read by presenting them to the s canner.

GETTING STARTED 5 1 1.4 SCA NNER LA BELLING There are four labels on t he s canner. The f i rs t three label s can be found on the housing of the DLL2020, as i ndicated in the figures below. The fourth label i s visible t hrough the sc anner window. All the label s have been attac hed by the m anufacturer and s hould in no case be rem oved.
