2.2 Selecting Alarm T ype 1 Optical Smoke Alarms are recommended due to their excellent response to smouldering fires. If there is likely to be prob lems with steam, contamination or dust build-up , or if there is significant r isk of a fast b ur ning clean fire an Ionisation Smoke Alarm should be fitted.
Impro ved A udibility The eff ectiveness of Category LD2 and LD3 systems can be significantly enhanced if an additional Smoke Alarm (interconnected) is installed in the master bedroom.

If you wish to connect more than tw elv e alar ms contact your local distributor (see page 16 f or details).
These Smoke/Heat Alarms should be interconnected only within the confines of a single f amily living unit. If the y are connected between diff erent units there may be e xcessive nuisance alar ms.
