11 Chapter 3: Installing the EZ-LP Installing Printer via Serial , Par allel, or USB as a Replacement for L egacy Printer 1. Print congur ation label or recor d your current printer ’ s settings, including the driver port setting. 2. P ower o y our current desktop label printer and disc onnect inter face cable.

A dministrator allows complete c ontrol ov er the proles and settings of the EZ -LP printer .

18 Connecting Via Serial 1. Select the Use Serial Connection radio dial. 2. Select the Com por t to which the printer is connected. 3. Select the pr inter’ s baud rate setting . Connecting Via Ethernet 1. Select the Use Network C onnection radio dial.
19 No-Media T imeout The no media timeout value repr esents the number of inches of media fed through the printer without detecting an index mark prior to reporting an error . EXAMPLE: IF NO MEDIA TIMEOUT IS SET T O 12, THE PRINTER WILL CONTINUE TO FEED 12 INCHES OF MEDIA WITHOUT DE TEC TING AN INDEX MARK BEFORE REPORTING AN ERROR.

21 Auto Recalibra tion Check and Apply Enable Aut o Recalibration and the printer will aut omatically attempt to r ecalibrate in the ev ent an index mark is not detected. Auto T op Of Form Check and Apply Enable Aut omatic T OF and the printer will feed a label when the printer is turned ON or the printhead is latched.
22 T op of F orm Adjust T op of F orm ( TOF) sets the top of the label with r elation to the print head. Increasing the TOF value mo ves the printed t ext down the label. Decrease the TO F setting to move the print ed test up the label. Shift Left Shift left moves the printed image left across the label.
