5 Operation Du ring Pr ojection This section e xplains the various types of operations you can perf or m while the projector is projecting an image. Y ou can perform the follo wing operations while projecting an image.
6 Selecting the Color Mode Y ou can select from among fiv e different color mode settings to optimize the projected image in accordance with image contents and projection conditions. Note (for XJ-S35 m odel users) Use the setup menu (page 11) to select the color mode when you ha ve an e xternal device connected to the projector’ s USB por t.
7 Momentarily Cutting Off the Input Source Image 1 Press the [BLANK] key . z This temp orarily cut s off the i mage from the input sou rce and proj ects a b lack screen in its place. 2 T o resume projection of the image from the input source, press the [BLANK] key (or [ESC] key).
8 Displa ying a P ointer in the Pr ojected Ima ge Y ou can select from among eight diff erent pointer styles, including various arrow styles, f or display in the projected image . P oint ers can be used during a presentation to indicate or highlight a specific par t of the image.
9 Press the [ASPECT ] k ey to toggle the aspect rat io of the display ed image between 4:3 and 16:9. Note z The aspect ratio setting aff ec ts the projected image only when the input source is VIDEO or component . z When the input source is a component signal with an aspect ratio of 16:9, the aspect ratio s witches automatically to 16:9.
10 Pressing the [FUNC] key displa ys the menu shown belo w . Y ou can use this menu to perform the operations described below . z Adjust image brightness Highlight “Bright ness” and then press the [ENTER] ke y . • This perf or ms the same operation as pressing the [BRIGHT] ke y ( ke y ) described on page 5.
11 Configuring Ad va nced Pr ojector Settings Y our projector has a set up menu that you can use to configure advanced settings . Displa ying the Setup Me nu Pressing the [MENU] key displa ys the menu shown below in the center of the projection screen.

20 About the “Signal Spe cific” Setting Unit For the items that ha ve “Signal Specific” in the “Setting Unit” column of the abo ve tab le, the setting is saved for t he specific type of signal (XGA/60Hz, SXGA /60Hz, etc.) that is being input when the setting is performed, and not f or a specific input source.
21 Projec tion Mode RCVUN Single Use this sub-menu to specify whether projection will be from th e front o f the scree n or the back of the screen . * : Select this optio n when pr ojecting fro m the fro nt of the scre en. : Select this option when project ing from the back of the scre en.
22 Blank Screen RCVUN Single Use this sub-menu to specify what should be projecte d after th e [BLANK ] ke y is pr essed. Blue: Sele ct thi s opt ion to proj ect a b lue scre en. Black * : Sele ct th is opt ion to pro ject a b lac k scree n. Logo: Sele ct thi s opt ion to proj ect the proje ctor ’ s buil t-in logo scre en.
