5 Intr oduction This document describes how to use the CASIO LCD digital camer a image loading software , Photo Loader (hereafter called Photo Loader in this document). Photo Loader is a software application that runs on Windows . This document does not describe how to use Windows .

Photo Loader can be used to capture the following types of multimedia files. • Image files saved in JPEG format • Video files sav ed in A VI f or mat (including those without sound) • A udio files sav ed in W A V format Linked still images (JPEG) and audio files (W A V) can also be managed in link ed f or m b y Photo Loader .
7 ■ Ho w to read this instruction man ual Operation con ventions All operations on this man ual are described f or Windows XP . The descr iption assumes that a mouse is used. In this document, the b uttons in dialog bo xes are described as f ollows .
8 Star ting Photo Loader Photo Loader must be installed on y our PC bef ore star ting. If not yet installed, install Photo Loader on y our PC . 1. Switch on y our PC to star t Windo ws. 2. Select “All Pr ograms” → → → → → “Casio” → → → → → “Photo Loader” → → → → → “Photo Loader 3.
9 Using Photo Loader This section describes how to use Photo Loader . ■ Loading an image This sub-section describes how to load image data onto y our PC using Photo Loader . Y ou can choose from “Loading images automatically” and “Loading images manually”.
10 Note • It is recommended that the peripheral de vices listed abov e be used to automatically load images recorded with digital cameras . T o load images not from a digital camera, see “Loading images other than those recorded by digital camer as” on page 18.
11 2. Clic k the <Load images> tab. 3. Select “A utomatic loading ON( N)” from “Set up automatic loading”. • “A utomatic loading ON( N)” is specified as the default. • Select “A utomatic loading OFF( F)” to disable automatic loading.
12 4. Restar t Photo Loader b y c lic king [Exit] (Restarting is not necessary unless the settings have been c hanged). This completes the automatic loading settings .
13 5. Connect the digital camera to the USB port or mount the memory card used to recor d pictures on your PC. • The confir mation dialog will be displa y ed. • If the confir mation dialog is not required, change the setting b y ref err ing to page 41.
14 8. Clic k the [Load( G)] b utton. • Images will be loaded in the selected image f older . • Clic k the [Cancel] b utton to cancel image loading. • When “Sor t by date ( P)” is selected, the loading date confir mation dialog bo x will be displa yed.
15 9. Enter a library name for the loaded ima ges. • Only v alid when loading with “Sor t by date ( P)” selected. • Operation 10 screen will be displa yed when loaded using “Sor t b y recording date ( R)”. • See “Librar y sor t method” on page 39 f or “Sor t b y recording date ( R)”.
16 • T o use the calendar f or mat displa y , click the Pull-do wn b utton ne xt to “List Style” at the top r ight of the screen and select the calendar f ormat.
17 1. Clic k the [Load ima ge] button fr om the function b uttons. 2. Select the “Load image in camera” option based on the connection between the digital camera (or memory car d) and y our PC. 3. Clic k the [Load ima ge in camera...] button. 4. Subsequent operations are the same as those f or operation 7 on page 13.
18 Loading images other than those recor ded b y digital cameras Loads image data other than that tak en with a digital camera into Photo Loader . Image data sa v ed in JPEG f or mat, video data sa ve.
19 3. Select the f older containing the image data to be loaded into Photo Loader and c lic k the [Add( A)] b utton. T o reselect an image to be loaded, select the image data from the f older list and click the [Delete( D)] b utton. Then, reselect an image to be loaded.
20 5. Clic k the [Load( G)] b utton. • Images will be loaded from the f older selected. • Clic k the [Cancel] b utton to cancel image loading. • When “Sor t by date ( P)” is selected, the loading date confir mation dialog bo x will be displa yed.

37 Note Rebuilding the file list can tak e a long time if y our e xisting librar y contains a large number of files . If JPEG data and W A V data ha v e the same file names, both images will be displa yed. If there is no data with the same file name , only the W A V data will be displa yed.

42 Con ver t image aspect based on r otation inf ormation Sets whether or not to con v er t the image aspect when loading images . If “Con v er t aspect( C)” is selected, a por trait image will be loaded as por trait image based on the rotation inf or mation, where applicab le .
43 Selecting the e-mail software Set the mailing software with which an image file is to be attached. If you do not use the mailing function, select “Do not set mailing software”.
44 Adding/Remo ving the optional buttons to the Library Adds the [PRINT] b utton used when printing an image in “Retouching and Printing Images/Attaching with E-mail” on page 27. Also , adds or remov es the [MAIL] b utton used when attaching an image to an e-mail.
