1 CIRCUIT BREAKER (TRIP BREAKER FOR THE CIRCUIT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON) FUSE BOX (REMOVE FUSE FOR THE CIRCUIT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON) • The blad es in each pack are m atched f or equ al weigh t to assur e smooth f an operati on. 2 Calculation of 32 ° Use th e tear-o ff Ceiling Angle T emplate card inserted in th e back of this m an ual, it provi des you with a simple ‘go’ or ‘no-g o’ for installing your f an on a sloped ceiling.
3 PREP ARA TION INSTRUCTIONS Unpacking: Befor e assembling an d in stalling your ceiling f an, remove all parts fr om the shipping carton s and ch eck them against th e parts listed here . Before discar ding pack aging materi al, be certain that all parts have been rem oved.
4 FAN PREP ARA TION MOT OR COUPLING T APERED THREAD MOT OR WIRES GROUND WIRE Step E. Usin g the pr ovi ded allen wren ch, loosen the allen set screw . Thread th e downr od into th e motor coupling un til it stops turning, this will tak e at least four an d a half full turns.
5 AD APT OR PLA TE INST ALLA TION JOIST CEILING WIRING CROSSBAR MOUNTING BRACKET FLA T W ASHER GREEN GROUND WIRE CEILING F AN APPROVED WIRING BOX RIDGE SIDE DOWN APPROVED OUTLET BOX HARDW ARE Note: After removing the old fixture , check the outlet box to insure that it is supported by a joist or beam across its upper surface .
6 Step 2. Route the outlet bo x wires thr ough the 1 / 2 ″ diam- eter outer hole o f the canopy ad aptor plate . Attach th e crossbar an d canopy ad aptor plate to outlet box with screws provi ded . Step 3. With the lar ge wash er attached, pass th e lag screw through th e center h ole of can opy adaptor plate and scr ew into gui de h ole.
7 HANGING THE F AN Step 5. T o hang the f an body in the can opy , hold the f an body firmly an d insert th e nylon ball in to the canopy open- ing. Rotate f an body un til slot on nylon ball fits into pin opposite canopy openin g.
8 CANOPY COVER DIS ASSEMBLE CANOPY AND MO TOR CO VERS Step 11. T ake th e two pieces o f the canopy cover an d assemble them ar ound the d ownrod as shown. U sing th e four screws r emoved in Step 10, assemble th e canopy cover . Slid e the can opy cover to the ceiling an d secure to th e downr od using th e two pro- vid ed scr ews.
9 A TT ACH BLADE HOLDERS Step 13. Attach th e blades to th e blade hold ers by align- ing th e screw holes o f the h older with th e holes o f th e blade . Attach th e blade h older using th e four blad e screws an d blade wash ers provid ed for each blad e .
10 LIGHT KIT WIRING WIRE NUT NOTE: If y ou do not desir e to install the light kit, see “Optional Switch Housing Cup” installation instructions on P age 11. Step 15. Remove th e wire n uts on th e BLACK and WHITE wir es from th e fan. If n ecessary re- move th e insulati on from th e last 1 / 2 ” of each wire (f an and ligh t fixture).
11 GLASS & BULB INST ALLA TION GLASS SHADE SCREWS Step 18. Loosen the thr ee glass screws f or each fixture so th e en d of th e screws ar e flush with the in side o f the fixtur e .
12 R INTELI•TOUCH ♦ SINGLE W -32 INST ALLA TION The wall con trol in stalls in the same m anner as an ordinary li ght switch, using an e xisting juncti on box an d wirin g. This contr oller is desi gned to sign al the f an microcomputer as well as perform n ormal switching oper ations .
