Replaceabl e Parts The only component of the LASE R CLASS 2060P that needs r egular service or r e placement is the FX-3 toner cartridge.

Pull the inside extensio n tray towards you. Make sure the tab is inserted into the slot finall y not to come off.

Remove the screws from the plugs and insert the pl ugs into the h oles on the hands et cradle. 2. Insert the plugs wit h the handset cradle in the h oles on the unit.

When carrying the unit, do not lift it by th e handset cradle as i t may brea k . If you need to remove the handset cradle after it is installed, use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws.

2-34 Setting Up Y our L ASER C LASS 2060P Chapter 2 Installing/Replacing the T oner Car tridg e The LASER CLAS S 2060P uses a Ca non FX-3 toner cartridge. Th e pro cedure below explains how to install the cartridge for the first time, and how to replace it when the toner runs out.
Setting Up You r LASER CLASS 2060P Chapter 2 Setting Up Your LASER CLASS 206 0P 2-35 Do not open the front cover without lifting the release latch as this may cause damage to your unit. 4. If r eplacing a used cartridge, hold the cartridge by its handle and rem ove it as shown.
2-36 Setting Up Y our L ASER C LASS 2060P Chapter 2 5. Remove the new FX-3 toner car t ridge fr om its pro t ective bag. ❏ Save the pr otective bag the cartridge comes in. Y ou may need to repack the cartridge later . 6. Gently r ock the cartridge fro m side to side s everal times to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.
Setting Up You r LASER CLASS 2060P Chapter 2 Setting Up Your LASER CLASS 206 0P 2-37 7. Place the cartridge on a flat, cl ean surface, and steady it w ith one hand. Remo ve the seal by gently pull ing on th e plastic tab with yo ur other ha nd. ❏ Use a firm, even pull to r emove the plastic seal.

Insert the toner cartridge into the unit. ❏ Align the tabs on th e left and righ t sides of the cartridge with the rail s insid e t he unit. ❏ Slide the cartridge into position. ❏ Always hold the cartridge by its ha ndle when insertin g it in the unit.

P APER appears in the LCD display , you need to add paper to the paper cassette or the multi-purpo se tray . Here are a few tips you should follow wh en you load paper into the paper cassette or the multi-purpose tray .

2-42 Setting Up Y our L ASER C LASS 2060P Chapter 2 Loading P aper in the Cassette Follow these steps to load paper in the paper cassette. 1. Lift the paper cassette slig htly an d pull it out. ❏ Remove the paper cassette, being careful not to drop it as you pull it out.
