AL WA YS check that all controls on the cooker are turned off after use. AL WA YS stand back when opening an oven door to allow heat to disperse.

9 AUT O C OOK ING PR O GRAMMES There are two A u to C oo k ing programmes that can b e selected u sing y o u r timer : - ( a ) To set the timer to switch the oven ( s ) On and Off Automatically ( b ) To set timer to switch on immediately and OFF automatically after a set cook period.
1 0 Note 1 When cooking automatically the Cook Period can be checked at any time by simply pressing the Cook Period button. Note 2 When cooking automatically the End Time can be checked at any time by simply pressing the End Time button.

1 2 H OTPLATE The d u al control wo k bu rner consist of a smaller inner and larger o u ter bu rner that can operate either together or separatel y . The u se of b oth bu rners on ma x im u m setting , together with large pans , gives a ver y high o u tp u t and red u ces heating times .
13 TO USE T H E H OTPLATE 1. Press the ignition button and then push in and turn the control knob of the chosen burner anti-clockwise to the large flame symbol. Continue to press the ignition button until the spark lights the gas. When operating the dual control burner there is a separate control knob for the inner and outer burners.
1 4 For the hotplate to work in the most efficient way possible and in order to save on the amount of gas consumed, it is recommended that only pans which have a lid and a flat base are used.
15 GRIDDLE A non-stic k griddle is s u pplied for u se over the two bu rners on the right hand side of the ho b . The griddle is made of cast iron and the s u rface is covered with a special nonstic k finish . To protect the non-stic k coating never u se metal coo k ing u tensils as the y ma y scratch the s u rface .

The oven has different heat z ones - the thermostat settings refer to the temperat u re on the middle shelf position ; a b ove this shelf it is hotter and b elow it is cooler .
2 0 OVEN COOKING C H ART The following times and setting are for g u idance onl y . Y o u ma y wish to alter the setting to give a res u lt more to y o u r satisfaction . W hen a different setting to that shown b elow is given in a recipe , the recipe instr u ctions sho u ld b e followed .
2 1 OVEN COOKING C H ART W hen b a k ing with two tra y s or tins on two levels , the top tra y is removed first and the lower tra y moved u p to the top position for a few min u tes longer . 22 T H E SLOW COOK SETTING W ith the fanned oven thermostat set to 9 0° the oven can b e u sed for slow coo k ing - The 'S low C oo k' setting . PREPARING FOOD FOR SLOW COOKING 1 . A ll dishes cooked by the ' Slow Cook ' setting should be cooked for a minimum 6 hours.
