6 HO TPL A TE The hotplate has one large high speed burner , two normal simmering bur ners and one small simmering burner which will accommodate pans between 100mm (4”) and 200mm (8”) diameter . All pans should be positioned centrally over the burners.
7 HO TPL A TE SAFET Y REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FR YING 1. Never fill chip pans mor e than one third full with oil or fat . 2. Never leave oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooli ng period. 3. Never heat fat or fr y with a lid on the pan. 4.
8 The grill pan can be pulled out to safety stops for viewing and for turning the food. T o remov e the pan: pull it for war d to the stop, lift it upwards and remov e out w ards. T O USE THE GRILL 1. Press the ignition button and then push in and turn the contr ol k nob anti-clock wise to the large flame symbol.
The oven has differ ent heat zones – the thermostat settings ref er to the tempera ture on the middle shelf position; above this shelf it is hotter and below it is cooler . T wo shelves enable full use of the temperatures inside the oven. Each shelf has a safety stop to preven t if from being pulled ou t too far when attending to food.
C OLD ST ART C OOKING Anything requiring long slow cooking such as casseroles and ric h fruit cakes can be put into a cold oven. S atisfactory results can also be obtained with creamed mixture , rich pastr ies or yeast mixtures, but for perfection we recommend preheating the oven for about 15 minutes.
The following times and setting are for guidance only . Y ou may wish to alter the setting to give a result more to y our satisfac tion. When a differen t setti ng to that shown below is given in a recipe, the recipe instructions should be followed . Allow 15 minutes preheat f or best results.
12 O VEN C OOKING CHART When bak ing with two trays or tins on two lev els, the top tray is remo ved first and the lower tray moved up to the top position for a few minutes longe r. Soft Margarine – Use the oven settings recommended by the margarine manufacturer and not those indicated on the cooking char t.
The ‘Slo w Cook’ setting on the oven thermostat is used for slow cooking, keeping food warm and warming plates f or shor t periods. USING THE ‘SL OW C OOK’ SET TING FOR SL OW C OOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow Cook’ setting should be cooked f or a minimum 6 hours.
T ake care as accessible sur faces inside the storage compartment will become hot when the ov en is in use. The storage compar tment is ideal for s toring saucepans, meat pans etc . D o not use it for storing combustible materials, flammable liquids or aerosols.
15 CARE AND CLEANING Clean the cook er regularly and wipe up spills soon after the y occur to prev ent them from becoming burnt on. Nev er use biological washing p o wder , c austic cleaners, harsh abr asives , scouring pads , steam cleaners , aer os ol cleaners or oven chemical cleaners of any k ind .

Prior to installation, ensure that the local distr ibution conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustmen t conditions are compatible. The adjustment conditions for this appliance are stat ed on the data badge which is fitted on the rear panel.

C OOKER HOODS If a cooker hood is to be installed, refer to the cooker hood m anufacturer ’ s instructions regarding fixing height. SP ACE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotplate level. This requires a minimum distance of 503mm between cupboard units of hotplate height.
UNP ACKING THE COOKER Unpack the components. Check that the following parts are prese nt. Grill pan and grid Baking dish P an supports (2) Oven shelv es (2) Enamelled discs (4) Literature Aluminium burner bodies (4) LEVELLING F our sk id feet are fitted which can be adjusted up or down to l evel the cooker .
Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a prope rly ear thed , readily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to but not directly above, and not more than 1.25m away from the appliance and capable of elec trical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such that it cannot touch hot par ts of the cooker i.
INST ALLA TION AND OPERA TIONAL CHECKS After installation, check for gas soundness. The supply pressur e can be checked at the grill injector . A ccess to the injector is by first removing the rear panel at the back of the splashback. Then remo ve the burner fastening screw and slide the burner off the injector .
