Please read the precautions below before using your cooker . AL W A Y S . . . AL W A YS make sure you understand the controls before using the co oker . AL W A YS check that all controls on the cooker are tur ned off after use. AL W A YS stand back when opening the oven door to allow heat to di sperse.
NEVER . . . NEVER leave children unsuper vised where the cooker is installed as all sur faces will get hot dur ing and after use. NEVER allow anyone to sit or stand on any part of the cooker . NEVER store items that children may attempt to reach abov e the c ooker .
The hotplate has one large high speed burner , two normal simmering burners and one small simmering burner which will accommodate pans between 100m m (4”) and 200mm (8”) diameter .
7 HO TPLA TE SAFET Y REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FRYING 1. Never fill chip pans more than one third full with oil or fat . 2. Never leave oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooli ng period. 3. Never heat fat or fry with a lid on the pan. 4. Always dr y f ood thoroughly before frying, and lower it slowly into the hot oil or fat.

Grilling can be started from cold but for best results preheat for approximately two minutes. Most cooking is done with the heat on full, but it may be necessary after seal- ing the food to reduc e the heat as required . F or au gratin dishes eg . Macaroni Cheese and meringue toppings eg.
The oven has different heat zones – the thermostat settings ref er to the temperature on the middle shelf position; above this shelf it is hotter and below it is cooler . Two shelves enable full use of the temperatur es inside the oven. Each shelf has a safety stop to prevent if from being pulled ou t too far when attending to food.
C OLD ST ART C OOKING Anything requiring long slow cook ing such as casseroles and ric h fruit cakes can be put into a cold ov en. Satisfactor y results can also be obtained with creamed mixture, rich pastr ies or yeast mixtures, but for per fection we recommen d preheating the ov en for about 15 minutes.
The following times and setting are for guidance only. Y ou may wish to alter the setting to give a result more to your satisfaction. When a diff erent setting to t hat shown below is given in a recipe, the recipe instructions should be follow ed. Allow 15 minutes preheat for best results.
13 O VEN C OOKING CHART When bak ing with two trays or tins on two levels, the top tray is remov ed first and the lower tray moved up to the top position f or a few minutes longe r. Soft Margarine – Use the ov en settings recommended by the margarine manufacturer and not those indicated on the cooking chart.
THE ‘SLO W COOK’ SET TING This is used for slow cooking, keeping food warm and warming plates for shor t periods. USING THE ‘SL OW COOK’ SET TING FOR SL OW C OOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow Cook’ setting should be cooke d for a minimum of 6 hours.
15 CL OCK & MINUTE MINDER T o Set Time of Da y Step 1 Check that the elec tricity supply to the cooker is tur ned on. Step 2 When switched on the display will show 0.00 flashing intermittently . Step 3 Press the “ “ button and then press either the “+” or “-” buttons to set the correct time of day .
16 CL OCK & MINUTE MINDER MINUTE MINDER OPER A TION T o Set the Minute Minder Step 1 Press the “+” button until the required time is set. A “Bell” symbol will light up. During setting the time adjusts in 10 second inter vals up to a maximum of 99mins 50secs.
17 CARE AND CLEANING Switch off the electricity supply and allow to c ool b efor e cleaning the cooker . Clean the cooker regularly and wipe up spills soon after they occur to pre vent them from becoming burnt on.
18 CARE AND CLEANING C OOKER FINISH CLEANING METHOD Vitreous Enamel Hotplate , burner caps, fascia, roasting dish, grill pan, oven base and rear , inside of grill compartment, inside of doors. Cloth wrung out in warm soapy water . Stubborn stains can be removed with a cream paste , liquid cleaner or by rubbing with fine steel wool soap pads.
19 SOMETHING WRONG WITH Y OUR C OOKER Before calling a Ser vice Engineer , please check through the following lists. THERE MA Y BE NOTHING WRONG. Problem Check Slight odour or small amount of smoke when grill / ov en used first time This is normal and should cease after a short period .
Prior to installation, ensure that the local distribution conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment conditions are compatible. The adjustment condi- tions for this appliance are stated on the data badge which is fitted on the back panel.

SP A CE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotplate level. This requires a minimum distance of 503mm between cupboard units of hotplate height. When installing next to a tall cupboard , par tition or wall, for a minimum distance of 400mm above hotplate level, allow a side clearance of at least 65mm.

Connection to the electr icity supply should be made via a properly ear thed, readily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to but not direc tly above , and not more than 1.25m aw ay from the appliance and capable of electrical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such that it cannot touch hot parts of the cooker i.
INST ALLA TION AND OPERA TIONAL CHECKS After installation, check for gas soundness. The supply pressur e can be checked at the grill injector . Access to the injec tor is by first removing the baffle at the front of the grill fastened by two screws.
