5 AR30 DR30 ENGLISH The lightning flash with the arrowhead symbol within an eq uilateral triangle is int ended to alert the user to the presence of un-insulated ‘dangerous v oltage’ within the product’s enclosure that ma y be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.
6 V entilation IMPORT ANT - The unit will become ho t when in use. Do not stack multiple units on top of each other . Do not place in an enclosed area such as a bookcase or in a cabinet without sufficient ventilation. Ensure that small objects do not fall through an y ventilation grille.

9 AR30 DR30 ENGLISH Pow er On/Off Switches the unit on or off. AC po wer socke t Once you ha ve complet ed all connections to the amplifier , plug the A C pow er cable into an appropriat e mains socket and turn the unit on. Y our unit is now ready for use.
10 F ront panel controls 1 Standby/On Switches the unit between a low po wer standby mode (indicat ed by dim po wer LED) and on (indicated by bright po wer LED). Standb y is a low pow er mode where the power consumption is less than 3 Watts. The unit ma y be left in standby mode when not in use.
11 AR30 DR30 ENGLISH Skip/Scan Sonata AR30 – In preset mode, steps up or down thr ough the user-st ored presets. – In manual mode, steps through the frequency band, f or fine-tuning. If button is held, the unit will search f or the next station with a strong signal.
12 Remote control The Sonata AR30 and DR30 are both supplied with a Navigat or remote control that operates the units. Standby/On Switches the unit between Standby and On mode. 0-9 numeric buttons Press to recall stored presets. Numerical select T o recall a preset number great er than ten, press -/-- f ollowed b y the required preset number .
The supplied remote can also contr ol the basic functions of an iPod when mount ed in the DD30 docking station. Ref er to 'Using the supplied DD30 docking station f or iPod' on how to connect y our DD30 docking station.

16 Operating instructions After making the connections to your unit, activat e the Sonata AR30/DR30 by switching the power butt on on the rear panel to 'On', then press the Standby/On butt on on the front of the unit or remot e.
17 AR30 DR30 ENGLISH Adjusting the volume Use either the V olume Up/Down buttons on the remo te contr ol, or the V olume control on the front of your Sonata syst em to change the v olume level. The ne wly selected level will be indicat ed briefly on the front displa y .
18 Operating instructions (continued) Setting presets Radio stations can be stored into the memory presets for easy access. Y ou can store up to 20 presets f or each band (for e xample, 20 presets for the AM band plus 20 presets for the FM band and 20 presets f or the DAB band).
19 AR30 DR30 ENGLISH Setting the clock By default, the clock will set itself according t o the clock data transmitted by SIRIUS, DAB or RDS enabled FM br oadcasts. If you are not in a region where you can receiv e these transmissions, you can set the clock manually .
20 Operating instructions (continued) 8. Press the button t o finish setting the alarm. 'Alarm set' will be displayed briefly before the unit goes t o standby mode. Note: Preset 1 in the selected band will alw ays be used, so mak e sure this is your fav ourite early morning station.
21 AR30 DR30 ENGLISH T o re-name the A ux input The aux input can be renamed thereby allo wing you to more easily identify the connected source eq uipment. The name can be up to five charact ers long. 1. Press and hold the V olume control on the fr ont of the unit to ent er the advanced settings menu.

23 AR30 DR30 ENGLISH Manual T uning In this mode, you can na vigate through all subscribed stations using the buttons on the front of the unit and remot e control. 1. Press the Source button until SIRIUS is displa yed. 2. Use the buttons on either the remote control or fr ont of the unit to br owse through a vailable stations.
24 There is no power Ensure the AC po wer cord is connect ed securely . Ensure the plug is fully inserted into the wall socket and is switched on. Check fuse in the mains plug or adaptor . Check the power switch is on at the back of the unit. There is no sound Ensure that the unit is set correctly .
