11 TE A INS IGH TS TEA TYPES There ar e four main types of teas from the tea plant camellia sinensis. The picking and processing methods determine the type of tea finally produced. 1. Blac k T ea Black tea is the most common type of tea worldwide. It is made by fermenting the harvested leaves for a couple of hours before heating or drying.
12 TIPS FOR OPTIMAL TEA BREWING • W ater quality affects taste. For best results, use filter ed water . • Finer tea particles and leaves will infuse more quickly than whole leaves. As a result, finer tea particles often r elease too much tannin too quickly , creating a harsher taste.

15 5. Unwind the power cor d completely and insert the power plug into a grounded wall outlet. 6. The LCD scr een will illuminate with the default brew temperatur e and brew time display . 7. Pr ess the left ARROW UP button until the LCD screen displays 100°C.

17 4. Replace the Basket Lid on top of the Basket. Ensure lid is secur ely snapped in place by pressing firmly on the centr e of the lid. 5. Slide the assembled Basket on to the magnetic post located within the Glass Jug. The assembled Basket will attach itself to the top of the magnetic post.
18 NO TE: The 'BREW TIME ' can be adjus ted during the heati ng proce ss but 'BREW TEMP' ca nnot be c hanged once the h eating cycle c ommences. T o c hange the br ew time press t he right ARROW UP but ton to inc rease t he time, or t he right ARROW DO WN button to decr ease the time.
19 11. At the end of the tea brewing cycle, the Basket will automatically rise to the top of the Glass Jug to prevent over -brewing. The tea alert will sound three times. THE TEA BASKET IS HOT T O T OUCH AFTER TEA IS BREWED. ENSURE THE TEA BASKET HANDLE HAS COOLED BEFORE HANDLING.
20 USE AS A V ARIABLE TEMPERA TURE KET TLE The T ea Maker can be used for boiling or heating water to a customisable temperature. NO TE: If you have used the Glass Jug for making tea w e recommend thoroughly cleaning the interior of the Jug and remo ving the T ea Basket befor e boiling or heating water .
21 NO TE: Once a customised temperature has been selected and once tea making or water heating cycle has been activated, the customised temperature setting will r emain in the memor y of the T ea Maker until you c hange it. T o return to default settings, see P age 33.

25 NO TE: The 'Auto Star t' feature can be canceled anytime by pressing the A UTO S T ART but ton. The LCD screen will no longer display the A UTO S T ART symbol and the AUT O ST ART but ton sur r ound will cease to illuminate.
26 ST A NDBY MOD E / MOVIN G THE TE A BASK ET MOVING THE TEA BASKET WHEN NO T IN THE BREWING C Y CLE After the brewing cycle is complete, you may wish to lower the T ea Basket again for extra infusion to produce a str onger tasting tea. T o do this, press and hold the BASKET button for 2 seconds.

29 Ensure the T ea Maker is t urned OFF b y pressing t he TEA|Cancel button (whe n brewing tea) or the HO T W A TER|Cancel button (whe n heating w at er) on the P ower Base. The T ea Maker is OFF when the button surround illumina tion goes out. Remove the power plug fr om the wall outlet .
30 Cleaning the T ea Bask et Lid, T ea Basket and T ea Scoop 1. W ash the T ea Basket Lid, T ea Basket and T ea Scoop in warm soapy water with a soft sponge, rinse and dry thoroughly . A non-abrasive liquid cleanser or mild spray solution may be used to avoid build-up of stains.
