INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS RE A D THIS CAREFULL Y BEFORE ST A RTING THE INST A LLA TION UNPACKING & INITIAL INSPECTION 1. Unpack the unit. Inspec t all com ponents for completeness and condition. Ensure that all pack ing materials have been rem oved from the unit.

OPERATION IMPORTANT: All E-Max™ brewers are tested and set a t the facto ry . If programming adjust- ments are necessary, refer to the E -Ma x™ Programming Manual (p/n/73674). To over-ride th e Br ew Wait mode , press and hold the BR EW key for 3 second s when the brewer is in Bre w Wait mode (i.
OPERATION (continued) W ARNING: Burn Hazard. This appliance dispenses very hot liquid. Seriou s bodily injury from scalding can occur f rom co ntact with dispensed liquids. C AUTION: B urn Hazard To avoid splashing or overflowing ho t liquids, ALWAYS use an empty airpot or therm al server before starting th e brew cycle.
PROGRAMMING FEATURES AND OPTIONS 1. View Water Temperature in Tank: To view the water tem perature on the scre en, the E-Ma x™ brewer must be ON, and not brewing or in the filling mode. Press and hold the 4th key, and depress the 6th key. The actual wa ter temperature w ill be displayed for 3 seconds.
8. Clock A. Time – Battery Backup. The E-Max™ has a battery backup s ystem which will maintain the proper time during power failures, or when the bre wer is unplugged (even f or very prolonge d periods of time).

FUNCTION 1. W ater enters at the inlet fitt ing of the fill solenoid (32). The solenoid adm its water via a command from the controller. NOTE: The solenoid has an inter nal strainer. To clean the strain er: Shut of f water supp ly. Unscrew the plastic ca p protruding from the rear of the brewer.

SERVICING INST RUCTIONS - ELECTRIC AL FUNCTION 1. Pressing th e POWER k ey energizes the unit. The POWER LED will glow whenever the unit is ON . 2. Automatic fill is accomp lished via a FI LL SOLENOID (32) and a W ATER LEVEL PROBE (7). The probe senses ground through the water in the tank.

SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS — DE-LIMING HE A TER TANK 1. Disconnect br e wer form the electrica l sup pl y. Turn off the water suppl y and disc onnect water supply f rom the brewer inlet fitting. 2. Rem ove the top panel or top warmer section to gain access to internal components.
TROUBLESHOOTING SUGGESTIONS If the E-Max™ goes into the error diagnostic mode as outlined below , it will likely be necessa ry to reset the brew er in ord er to test individual components.
