It generates minimum amounts of energy in the radio frequency range. While it is in use, the GSM system keeps a con- stant check on both the frequency and the power.
68 Reactivate the telephone: • Press briefly. Emergency calls As with every other mobile telephone, the Radiophone operates using a combination of mobile radio and cross-country networks, radio signals and functions programmed by the user. As a result, there is no guarantee that your call will always go through.
69 DEUTSCH Radio Telefon ENGLISH Radio Telephone This equipment must not be operated with- out a suitable externally mounted GSM or combination antenna. The equipment includ- ing the GSM or combination antenna must be installed by an authorised Bosch service centre only.
70 If you attempt to insert a different kind of card (e.g. telephone or credit card), “CHECK KEYCARD” or “PRÜFE KEYCARD” will ap- pear in the display for approx. 2 sec. Remove the wrong card and replace it with a valid KeyCard or SIM card. Starting up the Radiophone • Switch the unit on (press 1 ).

When the ignition has been switched off, the unit will emit a double beep to remind you to remove the KeyCard/ SIM card before leaving your vehicle.

If “SEARCH” appears in the display when switching on the radio or recalling one of the stored frequencies, the unit is automatically searching for an alternative frequency.
80 Manual tuning: • Press << / >> ; the frequency will change in degrees in the downwards or upwards direction. If you hold down the right or left part of the rocker switch, the frequency scan will speed up in the corresponding direction.

84 Operating the cassette deck The equipment must be switched on. As soon as you insert a cassette, the set will automatically switch to cassette opera- tion. The cassette will not begin to play a) as long as a telephone call is in progress or being placed, or b) as long as a priority traffic announce- ment is playing.

94 PIN code (Personal Identification Number) Normally, the SIM card will not operate the telephone until a personal identification number (PIN code) has been entered. This PIN code is included with the SIM card when you purchase it. You can alter or even deactivate your PIN code.

98 ? Anti-theft card protection system In order to be able to operate the tele- phone, you must insert a trained SIM card first. Using a KeyCard, you can place an emergency call only. Using a trained SIM card, it is possible to operate all of the telephone’s availa- ble functions, including the telephone mode.

100 Using speed-dialling . . . You can recall stored telephone numbers with the corresponding name or the number of the entry. The numbers which can be recalled in the telephone’s memory bank range from 1 to 25, on the SIM card from 101 to a maximum 225.
