Traffic safety As the driver of a motor vehicle, it is your responsibility to pay attention to the traffic situation at all times.
40 • Press << or >>. The display will switch to “CHANGE”. • Push in the KeyCard. The card is re- leased and put in the proper position for being removed. • Remove the first KeyCard and insert the new one while “CHANGE” is still being displayed.

42 Radio operation with RDS ( R adio D ata S ystem) If you leave the service area of the regional programme tuned into, or if you would like to take advantage of the full RDS service, switch to “REG OFF”. • Press the AF button for approximately two seconds until “REG OFF” appears.

44 Automatically storing the strongest stations with Travelstore You can automatically store the six most powerful FM stations of your current recep- tion area sorted according to their signal strength. This function is particularly con- venient on longer trips.

With mono playback, the stereo sign will disappear from the display.
46 If the system is unable to find a station of- fering the selected programme type, the dis- play will show “NO PTY” and a beep tone will be released. The station received be- fore starting seek tuning will be tuned in. You can assign different programme types to each preset position.

48 Traffic announcement priority on/off If the priority for traffic announcement pro- grammes is activated, “TA” will light up in the display. To switch the priority on or off: • Press TIM for approximately two sec- onds until you hear a beep. When pressing TIM while a message is be- ing broadcast, this message will be interrup- ted.
49 ENGLISH DEUTSCH FRANÇAIS ITALIANO NEDERLANDS SVENSKA ESPAÑOL PORTUGUÊS Automatic seek tuning start (tape and CD changer operation) When leaving the reception area of the tuned in traffic programme station while listening to a tape or CD, the system will automatically start searching for a new TA programme.
50 T raffic Memo (TIM) This set is equipped with a digital speech memory, making it possible to automatically record up to four traffic messages lasting a maximum of four minutes. When the radio is switched on and “TP” dis- played, the system will record all incoming messages of the tuned in station.

52 Warning note Danger of damaging the motor antenna in a car wash If you have installed a motor antenna, it will remain extracted when turning off the radio while the TIM timer is active. The antenna may also come out inside the car wash when the set is turned off and the TIM timer active.

54 Skipping unrecorded tape por- tions with Blank Skip This function senses an unrecorded tape portion continuing for more than 15 seconds and automatically fast forwards the cas- sette to the beginning of the next track. During fast tape winding, “B-SKIP” will be indicated on the display panel.

56 Selecting the display mode You can select the desired display mode for CD operation: “NAME” – The specified name, for example “MADONNA” will be displayed. “TIME” – The elapsed playback time of the title is dis- played, for example “2 : 32”.
