WAP3205 User’s Guide 19 C HAPTER 1 Getting to Know Your WAP3205 1.1 Overview This chapter introduces the main features and applications of the WAP3205. The WAP32 05 extends the range of your existing wired net work without additional wiring, providing easy network access to mobile users.

WAP3205 User’s Guide 25 C HAPTER 3 Access Point Mode 3.1 Overview The WAP3205 is set to access point mode by default. In this mode y our W AP3205 bridges a wired network (LAN) and wirele ss LAN (WLAN) in the same subnet. See the figure below for an example.

WAP3205 User’s Guide 33 C HAPTER 4 Client Mode 4.1 Overview Y our WAP3205 can act as a wireless client. In wireless cli ent mode, it can connect to an existing network via an access point. Use this mode if you already have an access point or wireless router in y our network.

Clients using different SSIDs can access the Internet and the wired network behind the W AP3205 (such as a printer) , but they cannot listen to eac h other’s tr affic.
