OPERATIN G MANUA L v2.8.5.0 Introduction Zappiti Media Center is a Windows based s oftware developed by Gr oup Archisoft to create movie and TV show cover arts. Za ppiti™ is PCHC-friendly (PC Home Cinema) and allows uploading of co ver arts browsing system on media players such as Zappiti player or Dune H D media player.
How to operate Zappiti with a PC Home Ci nema (PCHC), main principles: 1. Arrange and renam e files then store them in tw o distinct categories : movies and TV shows. 2. Install and startup Zappi ti™ app on your PC. 3. Set your media folder l ocation through Zappiti Media Center using wizard assistant.
SUPPORT Despite our efforts to pu blish tutorial (e.g. on f orums), operating manuals a nd videos (see “Help” tab on zappiti.com), users ma y have some proble ms to properly achieve Zappiti™ s etup with specific settings. If you do, pl ease notice paying help (hotlin e) is available by HD LAN D.
Files names Movies: Ideally, files must be properly named, using only movie titles (eith er in French or in Eng lish). Title words (if more th an one) must be properl y separated. Blank and Caps can be used, but oth er special characters cannot. Characters such as p oint, hyphen, apostr ophe or underscore can be used.
track, a picture will be do wnloaded from LAST FM audio database. Cat egories are based from audi o files tags data. Playlists can not yet be managed by Zappiti™. For now, music related options ar e still limited but will soon be up dated and enhanced so as to be more user-friendly.
3. Setup Wizard When setup wizard pr ocess is started, two options might be selected: either “cl ose” wizard assistant or ”Where your multimedia files are stored”.
With the help of files br owser, browse fold ers to locate either movies, or TV shows or music folders selected to be add ed to Zappiti™. These fil es can be located on computer (internal hard drive), on an external hard drive, on multi media player hard drive, on ne twork drive, and so on.
- Then click on “Browse ” button and locate media player. With Dune HD or Zappiti player, this network folder has to be named “Dune ”. Save your selection by clic king “OK” so as to come back to the previ ous window. - In this window, mark “ Reconnect at logon” th en click on ”Finish” but ton.
The same process can b e used more than once for as many folders as you need to add. Onc e all required folder(s) hav e been added, click on “Next” button. 8. Categories of movie s If you missed to mention in to Zappiti which media category is stored in a gi ven folder, Zappiti is fitted with an extra Step to fill missing da ta.
9. Have any other periphe rals? This step allows to men tion into Zappiti Media Center which kind of player you own, either Dune HD or Zappiti media player and/or Zappiti™ App for smart phone/iOS tab (to be noticed an Android version is un der development by n ow).
connected to network, you can access to hard drive by clicking on “My Network Pl aces” on your browser. Netw ork folder should be disp layed as “Dune”, whereas it i s a Dune HD or a Zappiti player. Click on “Dune” network folder to highlight it.
12. iTunes settings (for iPho ne / iPad) This step allows to setup u pload parameters f or iOS devices. Begin by clickin g on “Browse” button then select loca tion where Zappiti will g enerate iOS data files, e.g. deskto p (data files will then be synchronized with iPhone / iPad via iTunes).
Please wait until data scrap ing process is co mpleted. Beneath each media file will be displayed a synthetic feedback of data scraping status a s follows: [Identification], [Scrap ing], then [Scraped].When all files have been scraped, the window will disappear and an ind icator box on top of screen will display downl oading data status.

If movie still doesn’ t match to require ments, another way t o proceed is explained further in this operating manual , named “ Scraping data ” (process only availab le for movies for now).

Cover Art / Movie Cove r Editing To modify a movie or TV show cover art straigh t from a list, just point the required cover ar t and click right on mouse to displa y Pop-up menu. Then click on “Modify” button and a pop-up window will be displayed.
Data editing Zappiti displays in S ynopsis screen page data related with movies (or TV sh ows) or with file. Can be found e.g. movie title, syn opsis, TMBd mark, movie duration, date of release, name .
Scrap data (movie or TV show not fitting) Whenever it occurs a m edia file has not been link ed to the fitting movie, the scan (scrap) can be operated once more b y the user. To perform this, just click on covert art of a movie stored on Zappiti Media Center interface.
Customizing of categor ies (genres). Files can be sorted out b y genre in Zappiti. To have an access to genres , click on “Category” butt on on Zappiti main page. By d efault, Zappiti uses 1 8 separate genres categorie s, but others can be add ed as you will then linked to fr eely selected key words.
link allows you to modify category parame ters such as name, linked key words, linked icons or button. “Cancel” link all ows you to cancel any selected category. And “Reiniti alize categories” will cancel all categories cust omizations and c ome back to the Zappiti “by d efault” categories.
1. Slide mouse arrow over the cover art of a movie you want to link to a gr oup then press right button on mouse. 2. When Pop-up menu is displ ayed, click with mouse left button and mark the checkbox located in front of the required movie groups.
Note : if neither Perfor mance nor Support is di splayed, go to step 3. Perf ormance and Support can b e displayed only if categ ories display has been selected.
How to export to a Z appiti Player Along with your Zappiti Player, you are deliv ered a license giving a ccess to upload Zappi ti Music for your multimedia Zapp iti Player and for any other Dune HD players. To pro ceed to upload, click on “Zappiti Player upload ”.
How to export to a D une HD player If you own a Dune HD, y ou don’t need any more to be logged (as it was on pre vious version). How to upload data on a multimedia player Once you are logged, on the first time you click on “Upload” button, Zappiti will ask y ou to upload in “Full ” mode.
1. Startup your iPh one / iPad / iPod Touch. Purchase a Zappiti app from Appl e Store. You ma y also download this app fro m iTunes Store . 2. Connect your iPh one / iPad / iPod Touch to your PC computer. 3. In Zappiti PC app, cli ck on “Setting” button th en on Upload tab and setup access path.
7. Startup Zappiti app on your iPhone / iPad: a warning window will displa y on the screen. Validate by clicking on "YES" option. 8. Wait till synchronizati on is totally performed .
9. Disconnect your iPh one. When a multimedia pla yer has been used, star tup your multimedia Dune HD or Zappiti Player. 10. Startup Zappiti app on iPhone. If an error warning is displayed, then q uit app and restart. On ap p main page, click on « Settin gs » button located top rig ht then enter your multi media player or PC (PCHC) IP address.

5. Enter NAS server IP addr ess (or computer IP addre ss) where files are stored. Note: a NAS server is a box set conta ining network co nnected hard d isks. 6. Enter name of shar ed file (taking care of Capitals if some are typed). File name can vary, d epending on type of NAS.
Playing music on PC computer Click right on either title or album and select “ Play” option in Pop-up menu. Playing music on Dune HD media player o r Zappiti player. In Zappiti Music, click on “TITLES” button then pr ess “PLAY” button in Pop-up menu.
Optional functions Viewed / Not viewed (fo r movies) An experimental function named "Viewed/Not vie wed” allows tagging m ovie cover arts so as t o be able to identify movies which have been vie wed. To activate this func tion, mark dedicated checkbox in file “Others” of Settings panel.

3. Once file is found, hig hlight it then press P op-up Menu key on Zappiti Player remote controller and select option “Add to favorites”. 4. With Zappiti Player rem ote controller, se t arrow on “Favorite ” tab. The previousl y created “Zappiti” favorite sh ould now be displayed.
