7 T ouch Contr ol senso r fields The appliance is operated using T ouch Contr ol sensor fields. Functions ar e controlled by touching sens or fields and c onfirmed by displays and acoustic signals. T ouch the sensor fields fr om above, without covering other sensor fields.
8 Displays Residual heat indicator 1 Wa r n i n g ! Risk of bur ns from r esidual heat. After being switched off, the cooking zones need some time to cool down. Lo ok at the residual heat ind i- cator . 3 Residual heat can be used for melting and keeping food warm.
9 Operating the appliance 3 Use the induction cooking zones with suitable cookware. Switching the appliance on and of f 3 After switching on, within approx. 10 se conds a heat setting or a function must be set, otherwise the appliance aut omatically switches itself of f.
10 Using the automatic warm-up function All cooking zones are equippe d with an automatic warm-up function. The automatic warm-up function se ts the c ooking zone to the highest setting for a certain period of time and then auto matically swit ches back to the cook- ing setting that was originally set.
11 Locking/unlocking the contr ol panel The control pa nel, with the exception of the “On/Of f” sensor field, can be locked at any time in or der to pr event the settings being changed e .g. by wiping over the panel with a cloth. 3 When you switch the appliance of f, th e locking function is automatically switched off.
12 Using the child safety device The child safety device pre vents unintentional use of the appliance. 13 Switching the power function on and off The power function makes more power available to the induction cooking zones, e.g. to bring a lar ge quantity of water to the boil quickly . The power function is activated for 10 minutes. After that the induction cooking zone automatically switches back to heat se tting 9.
14 Using the timer All cooking zones can use each use one of the two timer functions at the same time. 3 If a cooking zone is switched of f, the timer function set is also switched of f. 3 If a heat setting is set on this cooking zone in addition to a countdown timer , the cooking zone is switched of f after the time set has elapsed.

17 Safety cut-out Cooking surface • If after switching on the cooking surface, a heat setting is not set for a cooking zone within approx. 10 seconds, the cooking surface automati- cally switches itself of f. • If one or more sensor fields ar e covered by objects (a pan, cloths, etc.
18 Tips on cooking and frying 3 Information about acrylamides According to the latest scientific r esearch, intensive browning of food, espe- cially in product s containing starch, may pr esent a health risk due to acryla- mide. Therefor e we recommend cooking at low tempera tures and not browning foods too much.
19 Pan size Induction cooking zones adapt automatically to the size of the bottom of the cookware up to a certain limit. However the magnetic part of t he bottom of the cookware must have a minimum diameter depending upon the size of the cooking zone.
20 Examples of cooking applications The information given in the following table is for guidance only . The power function is suitable for heating large quantities of liquid.
