33 6 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ( continued) Keep safety signs clean and legible at all times. Replace safety signs that are missing or have become illegible. Replaced parts that displayed a safety sign should also display the current sign. Safety signs are available from your Distributor or Dealer Parts Department or the factory .

The chain guards, bands, flaps, driveline shields, and gearbox shields should be used and maintained in good working condition.

17 22 TRACTOR REQUIREMENTS AND PREP A R A TION The models SDM40-48, SDM40-60 and SDM40-72 Standard Duty Cutters require a Category I 3-pt. hitch tractor of at least 20 horsepower or up to 50 horsepower and equipped with a 540 rpm PTO (power takeof f) in good working condition.

19 20 A TT ACHMENT The cutter is shipped partially assembled. Assembly will be easier if components are aligned and loosely assem- bled before tightening hardware. Recommended torque values for hardware are located on page 26. Select a suitable working area.
