11 Getting Star ted Charging the batter y Follo w these steps t o charge the J oybee 200’ s battery . 1. Remo ve the translucent rubber cov er from the charger sock et. Insert one end o f the power adapter cable into the USB port of the Jo ybee 200 and the other end to the adapter.

14 Connecting the Jo ybee 200 to a PC Connect the Jo ybee 200 to y our PC with the USB cable provide d as show n in th e illus tra tion. When the Jo ybee 200 is successfully connect ed to the PC, a new Rem o va b l e D i sk icon appears in the My C o m p u t e r window on your PC.
15 Disconnecting the Jo ybee 200 fr om a PC Follo w these steps t o disconnect the Jo ybee 200 from a PC. 1. Double click the USB device icon on the taskbar . A dialo g box as shown b elow app ears on the screen. 2. Select USB Mass S to ra ge D ev i ce in the dialog bo x and press Stop .
16 4. W hen the follo wing dialog box appear s on the screen, press OK and di sconnect the J oybee 200 from the PC. The procedur e described here may differ for the differ ent operating sys- tems.
17 Installing the software Insert the software CD pr ovided with the Joybee 200 in the CD-ROM driv e on your PC. The follo wing installation menu is display ed on the PC screen. If the installation menu do es no t appear on your PC scr een, open Explorer in W indows and locate the ‘autorun.
18 Click to select and install the d esired softwar e. Follow t he instructions on the screen to c omplete the installation. The following table shows the co ntents and functions of the software suite on the CD .
19 Installing the USB driv er Installing in W indows ME/W indows 2000/W indows XP Follo w these instructions to install a USB driv er . 1. T urn on the BenQ Joybee 200 MP3 Player. 2. Connect the J oybee 200 to the USB port of y our computer using the USB cable provi ded.
20 U sing the BenQ J o ybee 200 MP3 Pla yer T ur ning the Jo ybee 200 on and off Follo w these steps to t urn the Joybee 200 on or off. • Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the Joybee 200. After the welcome note is display ed, the Joybee 200 enters whatever mode the pla yer was in when it was swit ched off.
21 T ransferr ing data to the Jo ybee 200 Y ou can transfer music files to the Joybee 200 using W in- dows Explo rer or the QM usic software pr ovided.

23 Rep e a t p l ay Y ou can use the repeat function to pla y a selected track, section, all files or a random file r epeatedly . 1. Press and hold the MODE button for two sec onds while a track is playing t o displa y a popup menu. 2. U se the o r k e y s t o s e l e c t the REPEA T option .
24 Selecting an EQ mode The Joybee 200 provides seven equalizer modes to enhanc e the quality of audio . Select the EQ mode as described in the following pr ocedur e. 1. Pr ess and hold the MODE button for two sec onds while a track is playing t o displa y a popup menu.
25 Listening to FM radio The radio mode of the Joybee 200 enables you t o listen to FM radio as follows. 1. T urn on the Jo ybee 200. 2. Pr ess the MODE button rep ea ted ly to sw i tch to FM mode. 3. Choose an FM frequency using one of the followi ng procedur es.
26 Saving preset channels in memory Follow these steps to save y our fav orite radio stations for quick access . 1. When listening to your fav orite channel, press and hold the MODE k ey for 2 seconds to display a pop-up menu. 2. U se the or keys to choose a c hannel number (1-32).

32 The Jo ybee 200 has the V OR feature that only recor ds when a voice s ignal is detec ted and stops re cording if there is no voice or audio signal. Th is prevents blank spaces in your r ecord ed files. T o enable the V OR feature, do the fol- lowing: 1.
33 Setting up a timer recor ding The Jo ybee 200 can be pr ogrammed to start rec ording automatically at a specified time, from a specified input source. T o set up a timer r ecording, do the following: 1. T urn on the Jo ybee 200. 2. Pr ess the MODE button r epeatedly t o switch t o SETUP mode.
34 10. U se the or keys to set the date and time when the record ing end s. Set th e da te (year , month, date) and the time (hours and minutes) using the or keys and press after each option to move to the next.
35 6. Press to confirm your selection. U sing the lyric sync function The Jo ybee 200 has a special featur e that enables yo u to know the view the ly ri cs on the display when play ing back music. The L yrics edit ing tool in QM usic enables you t o create the lyrics and you can enable the lyrics sync feature using the setup menu as follows: 1.
36 U sing the play list function The Jo ybee 200 pro vides a play li st feature that hel ps you create pla y lists of your fav orite songs. Create play lists using QM usic and play them on your J oybee 200 b y acti- vating the play li st feature as follo ws: 1.

42 U sing QM usic QM usic is software p rovided to help you to organize your music collection. Y ou can use it to play audio CDs or MP3s on your PC, c onv ert audio CD tracks into MP3 format, create pla ylists, transfer music to your J oybee 200, burn music CDs and create y our own music album.

48 Addin g music from an audio CD to Jo ybee 200 1. Put an audio CD in the CD-ROM on your PC. The icon appears in the left panel of QM usic, and the files on the CD appear in the right panel. 2. Select the files to be added to the J oybee 200 by clicking the check bo x es in front of the files.
49 3. Click the icon, and QM usic starts co nv erting the selected files int o MP3 files. 4. After the conversion is completed , a New A lb u m is added to the left panel. All the c on verted files ar e placed in this album. Cl ick the New Album to dis- play the details of files in the right panel.
50 5. Select the files to be added to the J oybee 200. T o select more than one file, pr ess and hold the Ctrl key on the keyboard while sele cting the files. T o se lect all files, click the fir st file, press a nd hold the Shift key on the keyboard, and then cl ick the last file.
51 6. Drag to cop y the selected files from the right panel to the MP3 directory under the icon. • Check if there is enough memory space on Jo ybee 200 before trans- ferring files to Jo ybee 200.
52 Adding files from a PC to Jo ybee 200 Follo w these steps to add files from a PC to yo ur Jo ybee 200. 1. Click the My Jo y b e e folder in the left pan el.
53 2. Press to open a dialogue box fo r select ing files. Browse and select MP3, W A V or WMA files to be add to the Jo ybee 200 from the PC. Press Ope n to add the selected files to My Jo y b e e .
54 4. Pr ess and QM u sic starts transfer ring the files in the My J oy b e e folder to the Jo ybee 200. Before transferr ing the selected files to Joybee 200, QM usic shows a dial og box t o ask if you want to delete the existing files in the M y Jo ybee folder .
55 U pdating Jo ybee 200 auto matically w ith QM usic Y ou can set up the Jo ybee 200 to be updat ed with the music from the My J oy b e e folder automatica lly when it is conn ec te d to the PC .
