23 Insert a micro-SIM card With the metal con tacts facing down, align the micro-SIM card with the mark next to the card slot, and fu lly insert th e micro-SIM card into the card slot, until the mi cro-SIM card is locked in place. T o av oid d amaging your phone and SIM ca rd, don’t use a Nano SIM card or a SIM card ada pter .
24 Insert a microSD card With the metal con tacts facing down, align the microSD card with the mark next to the card slot, and fully insert the microSD card into the card slot. • The phone supports microSD cards up to 64 GB in size. • The micr oSD card is only a v ailable by sepa rate purchase.
25 Install the back co v er 1. Align the back cov er onto the top of your p hone (a) . 2. In a clockwise direction (b) , press the sides and the bottom of the back cover against your phone to lock the back cover into place.
26 Charge y our phone Y our phone’ s battery is not full y charged when you first unpack y our phone. Fully charge t he batter y befor e using the phone. 1. Insert the smaller end of the USB cable into y our phone’ s micr o USB port. 2. Insert the larger end of the USB cable into the USB wall charger .
27 LED indicator Y our phone’ s LED indicator displa ys th e following batter y statu s: • Flashing red: Th e batter y is r unning low . • Solid red: The battery is charging. • Solid green: The b atter y is fully charged. • Full y charging the batter y takes appro ximately 3 to 3.

37 Use the Quick Settings Use the Quick Sett ings to quickly en able/disable WLAN and mobile data connections, adjust brightness , and access the Settings app and other featu res. 1. Open the Quick Settings: • Swipe down the notif ication dra wer and touch at the top right.
38 Put y our phone to sleep • Y ou can pr ess the pow er button to turn off the s creen and put y our phone to sleep. • When your phone is on and left idle fo r a set period, it turns off th e screen and goes into sleep mode. • T o change the settings available fr om the Quick Settings: 1.
39 W ake up y our phone an d unlock the screen 1. Press the po wer button to turn on the scr een. The lock screen a ppears. 2. Swipe awa y th e lock ico n . Na vigate the lock screen Y ou can use widgets and open the Camera app directly fr om the lock sc reen, without needing to unlock the scre en.
40 Add widgets to the lock scr een 1. T o enable the lock screen widget featur e , select Settings > Security > Enable widgets . 2. When the lock scre en appears, swipe right fr om the left edge of the lock screen. 3. T ouch the plus icon . A list of widgets appears.
41 Reorder lock scr een widgets 1. T ouch and hold a widget. 2. Drag the widget and r eleas e it in a new location. Remo ve a lock scr een widget 1. T ouch and hold a widget.
42 Set up an Internet connection T o browse the W eb, send email, and pe rf orm o ther online activities, a WLAN (Wireless Loc al Area Network , IEEE 802.11 b/g/n supported) or mobile data connection is required. Connect to a WLAN network 1. Go to Settings > WIRELESS & NETW ORKS .

44 Add y our accounts Using certain apps such as Em ail or Pla y Store requires you to set up and sign in to yo ur personal account on y our phone. 1. Go to Settings > A CCOUNTS > Add account . 2. T ouch the type of account y ou wish to add. 3. Follow on-screen instructions to enter accoun t information.
45 3. T ouch to select the data types that y ou wish to sync automaticall y (for example, Gmail or Contacts ). T o uch > Sync no w to manually sync the selected data types. Remo ve y our account 1. Go to Settings > A CCOUNTS > yo ur account type (for example, Google ).
46 Manag e y our location data Y ou can let y our phone collect you r location data from WL AN, mobile networks, GPS satellites, and Google’ s locat ion ser vice. T o estimate your loca tion, apps that ha ve y our permission ma y use your location data to deliver lo cation-based ser vices, such as local weather forecast, traffic data, etc.

71 Use other capture modes T ouch to choose fr om the following ca pture modes: Photo Ultra Sensitivity Enhance camera sensitivity to lighting condit ions, suitable for taking photos at night and in a d ark place. Smile The camera captures a photo imme diately when the viewfinder detects a smile on a person’ s face.
72 Pan o r am a Y ou can create a 360-degree panorama. 1. Frame one sid e or the other of the scene you want to include in a panorama. 2. T ouch . Pan slowly and steadily acr oss the scene you want to include in the p anorama. 3. W hen you reach the end of your shot, touch .
73 Denoise Reduces a photo’ s dark or bright spots. EV Lets you capture thr ee photos of d ifferent exposur e values. 1. T ouch to capture thre e p hotos with these values: EV 0, EV +1, EV -1. 2. S wipe to view the photos. T o uch and hold the photo thumbnails to select/deselect the photos.

82 Set sleep mode Choose the shor test time your phone takes to go into sleep mode. 1. Go to Settings > Displa y > Sleep . 2. Choose the shortest i nactivity period possible. When the inactiv ity period ends, your p hone automatically turns off the screen and g oes to sleep.

89 Encr ypt phone Encrypt all data on y our phone. Y ou must enter a n umeric PIN or passw ord to decr ypt your phone each time you turn it on. Encr y ption is irrev ersible . The only wa y to rev ert to an unencrypted phone is to perf orm a factor y data res et, which erases all yo ur data.
90 V erify apps Some apps can harm your phone. Y ou ca n choose t o verify apps in order to help pr event harmf ul software fr om being installed on y our phone.
91 Automatic restor e Selecting this option lets your phon e restore backed up set tings and data when reinstalling apps. Factory data reset Perf orming this act ion will restore y our phone to its fa.
92 Check phone information Go to Settings > About phone . Y ou can vie w your phone’ s status including battery , IMEI, IP addr ess, serial number , etc .
93 Update y our phone’ s operating system • When your p hone has a WLAN or mobile data connection, its Android system automatically chec ks for syst em updates and notifies y ou. Swipe down the notification draw er and to uch the system update notification to start the update process.
