5 Electrical R equirements Observe all gover ning cod es and ordinances. A 120 V olt, 60 Hz, AC only , 15- or 20-amp fuse d elect rical suppl y is r equired. ( A time -delay fus e or cir cuit br eaker is re commen ded .) It is recommended that a sepa rate circuit serv ing only this appliance be provided.
6 Designed Cooking Rack The cooking rack is ideal for two-level cooking. It provides extra cavity space for cooking 2 or more containers at the same time. The rack may be turned upside-down in or der to fit taller containers on the bottom of the oven.
7 Number Codes The microwave oven is preset with shortcut number codes . A number code includes one or mor e of the following: cooking power , cook time and food quantity or weigh t. See the code charts in th e “Cooking” and “Reh eating” sect ions for additi onal information.
8 MICROWAVE OVEN U SE A magnetron in the ov en produces microwaves which reflect off the metal floor , w alls and cei ling and pass through th e turnt able and appropriate cookware to the food.
9 T o T es t Cookware or Dinnerware for Microwave Use: 1. Put cook ware or d i nnerwa re in oven with 1 cup (250 mL) of water besid e it. 2. Cook at 100% cooking p ower for 1 minute. Do not use cookwar e or dinnerwar e if it becomes hot a nd the wate r sta ys co ol.

11 Cooking in Stages The oven can be set to cook at differ ent cooking powers for variou s lengt hs of tim e, up to 4 stages , inclu ding defrost and W arm Hold. ( Some mod els a llow only 3 stages, i ncluding defrost.) T o Cook in Stages: 1. T ouch C OOK TIME.
12 Wa r m H o l d (on s ome models) Hot cooked food can be kep t warm in th e microwave oven. Warm Hold can be used by itself or can be programmed to follow a cooking cycle . Opening the door du ring W arm Hold will cance l the func tion . To U s e : Put hot cooked food i n the oven.
13 Replacing F ilters The grease filters should be removed and cleaned at least once a month. The charcoal filter cannot be washed and sh ould be replaced every 6 to 12 months. Do no t operate th e microwave oven without the filters i n place. See “Assistanc e or Service” to reor d er filters.
