1. PWR / VOL (Power/V olume) Button: pr essing PWR / VOL briefly will tur n the unit ON . Pr essing PWR / VOL a second time will bypass the power up test sequence. Holding the PWR / VOL and holding will change the audio level. 2. sws ™ Indicator: illumination of the gr een Safety W ar ning System ® LED confir ms potential r oad hazards ahead.

Adjusting the Audio Level Once your unit has completed the power -up test sequence, the audio level can be adjusted by holding the PWR / VOL button down. As you hear the audio level change, the digits 1-9 in the Digital Display pr ovide a visual r efer ence of the audio level.

Entering Selectable Featur es Mode 1. W ith the unit OFF , pr ess and hold the CITY button then pr ess the PWR / VOL button. The amber X LED will illuminate and a short “beep” will sound. 2. Immediately after the “beep”, digit #1 will appear and indicate the status of the sws ™ Selectable Featur e.
T o achieve optimum per for mance, r egar dless of which mounting position you choose, follow these basic steps: 1. Consider occupant safety when selecting a mounting location.Choose a location wher e the unit will not be hazar dous in case of an accident.

Fuse Replacement If the fuse has blown, r emove the tip fr om the lighter plug followed by the old fuse. Replace the fuse with a 1-amp, 3 AG fuse. Defeating the fuse pr otection can damage your unit or your vehicle’s electrical system and will void your warranty.
Safety W ar ning System ® (sws ™ )—What is it? The Radio Association Defending Airwave Rights, Inc. (R.A.D.A.R.) conceived and developed the Safety W ar ning System ® .

Radar signals travel in a straight line and do not pass thr ough earth. Consequently, police Radar aimed at the cr est of a steep hill cannot be r eceived until you ar e at or near the top. W ar ning time may be minimal (as in situation #2) since a str ong signal is not pr esent until you ar e near the cr est of the hill.

Conditions that Af fect Radar Alerts If you feel your unit is not alerting pr operly, keep in mind that ther e ar e many conditions that influence the intensity or duration of an alert: 1. The police ar e using instant-on/pulsed Radar , in which case no signal is transmitted until visual contact has been made with your vehicle.
