5 Electrical R equirements Observe all gover ning cod es and ordinances. A 120 V olt, 60 Hz, AC only , 15- or 20-amp fuse d elect rical suppl y is r equired. ( A time -delay fus e or cir cuit br eaker is re commen ded .) It is recommended that a sepa rate circuit serv ing only this appliance be provided.
6 T urn ing Of f the T urntable The tur ntable can be turned off (except during an au to function ). This is helpfu l when cooking wit h plates that a re lar ger th an the turntable or when cooking with two 10¼ in . (26 cm) plates that are side by side .
7 Display When power is firs t supplied to t he microwave oven, a “:” will blink on the display . T ouch CANCEL•OFF to stop the blinking. If the “:” blinks on the display at an y other time, a power fa ilure has occurred. T ouch CANCE L•OFF and reset the clock if n eeded.
8 Ti m e r The Timer can be set in minute s and seco nds, up to 99 minutes 99 seconds and cou nts down the set time. The Timer does not start or stop the microwave oven. When the Timer is in use , the microwave oven can also operate. T o see th e countdown f or 5 seconds when t he microwave oven is in use, t ouch TIMER SET .
9 F ood Characteristics When microwave cooking, the amount, s ize and shape, start ing temperature, composi tion and density of the food affect cooking results. Amoun t of Fo od The more food heated at once, the longe r the cook time. Check for doneness and add small increments of time if ne cessary .
10 Alumin um F oil and Metal Always use oven m itts or po t holde rs wh en remov ing d ishes from the microwave oven. Aluminu m foil and some met a l can b e used in the oven. If n ot used properly , arcing (a blue flash of li ght) can occur and cau se damage to the oven .
11 Sensor Cooking A sensor in th e microwave oven detec ts humid ity released from the food and automaticall y sets a cooking time based on the food being cooked. Use the follow ing chart as a guid e for the Sensor One T ouch pads. * Do not use regular p aper bags or glassware.
12 Cooking in Stages The microwave oven can be set to cook at di ffer ent cooking power s for var ious le ngths o f time, up to 3 stag es. Sensor cooking cannot be done in stages.
