8 Sizzle P an and Han dle The sizzle p an, with its n onstick surface and detachab le handle, has been spec ially de signed for microwave use, and is ideal for pan-frying (p an-browning) foods in the oven. See “Sizzle Pan ” section . The sizzle pan is also used as a dri p pan under the gri ll rac k dur ing g rilli ng c ycl es.
9 OVEN CONTROL The oven’ s c ontrols are accessed through its control panel and i nteracti ve touch displ ay . NOTE : Due to th e sensitiv ity of the co ntrol panel, we have provided speci al instruct ions for cle aning the pan el as well as the touc h screen displa y .
10 Main M enu The Ma in Me nu is di splaye d on the d efaul t scr een. From th e Main Menu, all automatic cooking progr ams can be activat ed; all manual cooking can be programmed; setti ngs can be a djust ed; and i nstr uct ions, pr epa rat ion an d tip s can be accessed.
11 6. On Sizzle Poultry Breast screen, follow the i nstructions, then touch “S tart Pr eheat .” While the Sizzle Pan p r ehea ts, the cooking an imation and countdown are active in the disp lay . 7. 13 Display Backlight Disp lay back light m ay be se t to reduc e brig htness or to tu rn off during sl eep mode (a fter 2 minutes of inacti vity). Sleep mode i s an energy-saving feature that darkens the displ ay back light af ter 2 min utes o f inact ivity .
14 Ti m er The Timer can be set in minute s and second s, up to 99 minutes, 59 seconds, and counts down the set ti me. NOTE : The Timer does not start or stop the oven. The Timer countdown can be se en in full screen or in minimized view . In minimized vi ew , the countdown is always vis ible.
15 Night L ight The Night Li ght control button tu rns on the cooktop light at the lowest setting. While the Night Light is on, the Light control may still be used to brigh ten the c ooktop. When the cooktop light is turned off, the Night Light will st ill be on.
16 Cookin g Guideline s Covering Covering food helps r etain moistur e, shorten cook t ime and reduce spatteri ng. Use the l id suppli ed with cookw are. If a lid is not availab le, wax pape r , pap er towels or plas tic wrap approved for microwave ovens may be used.
17 Microwave Cooking P ower Many recipes for micr owave cooking specify which cooking power to us e by pe rce nt, nam e or num ber . For examp le, 70%=7=Medium -High. Use the follow ing chart as a general guide for the suggested cooking power of specific foods.
18 T ime/P ower Cooki ng The Time/Power control on t he Main Menu is for manual cooking by cooking method. There ar e 10 methods from whi ch to choose. Some of th e methods ha ve set po wer levels tha t cannot be changed. Use the following ch art as a guide.
19 Cooking in St ages (or steps) Manual c ooking may be done in stages (or s teps), up to 4 stages total. The first stage may be programmed us ing any of the manual controls. The s tages may be reviewed at any time during programming and /or cooking by touching “Review Steps” on the touch s cre en.
20 T o Use Popcor n Sensor: 1. Place popcor n bag on the turntable and close the d oor . 2. T ouch P OPCORN S ENSOR cont rol. The oven will start automati cally . The display will show when the oven is sen sing, and wi ll start countin g down t he time when se nsin g has f inish ed.
21 See “Cook Method Chart” for food item details, such as food items avail able, sensor fu nctions an d amounts. To U s e : T ouch “Cook Method” on Main Menu, touch “Cook,” and then follow screen prompts to make your s elections, prepare your food and/or ove n for cooking, and start the cy cle.
22 Sizzle P an The Sizzle Pan menu has 8 main food categories, plus a shortcut to Manual Si zzle Pan (see “Time/P ower Cooking” section). Sizzle Pan fu nction uses microwaves, and sometimes t he grill element. Mi crowaves quickly heat the p an, while the grill e lement browns (or crisps) the food from above.
