ASSEMBL Y 2 47 40 42 40 4 5 40 42 20 5 6 7 1 1. Before assemb ling this product, be sure that y ou have read and under stand the information in the bo x above. Attach the Bench F r ame (5) to the F ront Leg (4) with two M8 x 65mm Bolts (42), Suppor t Plate A (20), and two M8 Nylon Loc knuts (40).
8 3. Attach Base A (6) and the Storage P ost (27) to Upright A (8) with two M8 x 75mm Bolts (48) and two M8 Nylon Loc knuts (40). Do not confuse Upright A and Upright B. Locate the welded nut to identify each Upright. 4. Attach Base B (7) to Upright B (9) with two M8 x 75mm Bolts (48), Suppor t Plate B (28), and two M8 Nylon Lockn uts (40).
9 7. Attach the Backrest (23) to the Bac krest T ubes (13) with f our M6 x 40mm Bolts (44) and four M6 W ashers (54). The Backrest T ubes must be ori- ented as shown. 8. Lubricate an M10 x 165mm Bolt (43). Attach the Backrest T ubes (13) to the Bench F rame (5) with the Bolt, two M10 Washers (51), and an M10 Nylon Lockn ut (49).
10 11. Lubricate the M10 x 70mm Bolt (41). Attach the Leg Le v er (3) to the F ront Leg (4) with the Bolt and an M10 Nylon Lockn ut (49). 12. Inser t a Pad T ube (17) through one hole in the Leg Le v er (3). Inser t another Pad T ube through the other hole in the Leg Le v er .
11 15. Slide the W eight Carriage (2) onto the Lat T ower (1). The Weight Carriage m ust be turned as shown. Slide the Carriage Stop (37) onto the Lat T ow er (1). The 2 . 1/2” Square Bushing (58) m ust be facing the Weight Carriage (2). Align the holes in the Carriage Stop with the indicated hole in the Lat T ower .
12 17. Inser t the Lat T ower (1) into the F ront Leg (4). The Lat T ower must be turned as sho wn. Secure the Lat T ower with the Short Adjustment Knob (26). 18. Make sure that all parts are proper ly tightened before y ou use the weight bench. The use of all remaining par ts will be explained in ADJUSTING THE WEIDER PR O 340 beginning on page 13.
13 ADJUSTING THE WEIDER PR O 340 The weight bench is designed to be used with y our own w eight set (not included). The steps below e xplain how the weight bench can be adjusted. See EXERCISE GUIDELINES on page 17 for impor tant e x ercise inf ormation and ref er to the accompanying e x ercise poster to see the correct form for each e x ercise .
14 ADJUSTING THE WEIGHT RESTS T o change the height of the W eight Rests (11), fir st remove y our barbell fr om the Weight Rests. Then remov e the Long Adjustment Knob (25) from the Weight Rest in Upright A (8). P osition the W eight Rest at the desired height or tur n it around if needed.
15 A TT ACHING AND REMO VING THE 2” SQU ARE INNER CAP Do not use the Leg Le v er (3), when either the curl post or the lat tower (not sho wn) are attached to the weight bench. When you use the Leg Le ver (3), inser t a 2” Square Inner Cap (29) halfwa y into the F ront Leg (4) to cov er the open tube.
16 ADJUSTING THE P AD TUBE The indicated P ad T ube (17) can be adjusted to either the high or low position, depending on which one is more comf or table f or y ou. T o mov e the P ad T ube (17) from the high position to the low position, remo v e one F oam P ad (18).
17 THE FOUR B ASIC TYPES OF WORK OUTS • Muscle Building In order to increase the size and strength of y our muscles, y ou m ust push your m uscles to a high per- centage of their capacity . Y ou must also progressiv ely increase the intensity of your e xercise so that y our muscles will continually adapt and g row .
18 f or 3 minutes after each set if y ou are doing a muscle building w orkout, 1 minute after each set if y ou are doing a toning workout, and 30 seconds after each set if you are doing a w eight loss workout. Plan to spend the first couple of weeks f amiliarizing yourself with the equipment and learning the proper form for each e x ercise.
