8 OPERA TION HO W T O USE Y OUR TILLER Know ho w to operate all controls bef ore adding fuel and oil or attempting to star t engine. ST OPPING (See Fig. 9) TINES AND DRIVE • Release drive control bar to stop mo v ement. • Mo ve shift le v er to “N” (neutral) position.

12 MAINTENANCE GENERAL RECOMMEND A TIONS The warranty on this tiller does not co v er items that hav e been subjected to operator ab use or negligence. T o receive full value from the w arranty , the operator m ust main tain tiller as instructed in this manual.
13 MAINTENANCE FIG. 18 Disconnect spark plug wire before perf orming any maintenance (e xcept car bu re tor adjustment) to prevent accidental start ing of engine . Prevent fi res! Keep the engine free of grass, lea ves, spilled oil, or fuel. Re move fuel from tank bef ore tipping unit for maintenance.
14 MAINTENANCE MUFFLER Do not operate tiller without muffl er . Do not tamper with e xhaust system. Damaged muffl ers or spark arresters could create a fi re hazard. Inspect pe ri odi cally and re place if nec es sar y . If y our engine is equipped with a spark arrester screen assembly , re mov e e v er y 50 hours f or cleaning and inspection.
15 TILLER T O ADJUST HANDLE HEIGHT (See Fig. 22) Select handle height best suited f or your tilling conditions . Handle height will be diff erent when tiller digs into soil. • First loosen handle loc k le v er . • Handle can be positioned at different settings between “HIGH” and “LO W” positions .

18 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS ENGINE T O ADJUST THRO TTLE CONTR OL CA BLE (See Fig. 29) The throttle control has been preset at the f actor y and ad just ment should not be necessar y . If adjustment is necessar y , proceed as follo ws: • With engine not running, move remote throttle control le ver to “F AST” position.
19 Immediately prepare your tiller f or stor age at the end of the season or if the unit will not be used f or 30 da ys or more. W ARNING: Ne ver store the tiller with gasoline in the tank inside a build ing where fumes may reac h an open fl ame or spark.
