A-5 General Instructions Y our W eber Gas Barbecue is a por table outdoor cooking appliance. With the Weber Gas Barbecue y ou can grill, barbecue, roast and bak e with results that are difficult to duplicate with indoor kitchen appliances. The closed lid and Flav orizer® Bars produce that “outdoor” flav or in the food.

B-1 Assemble frame Y ou will need: left frame, right frame, tw o 1/2 inch bolts, tw o nylon washers and a 7/16 inch or adjustab le wrench. Note - Work on car peted area (on grass or one of the bo xes) to protect the finish during frame assembly . Lay the leg frame pieces as shown so the leg tabs point up.
B-2 Install tubing plugs Y ou will need: two tubing plugs and a hammer . Insert tubing plugs into the ends of the leg frame. T o fully seat the plugs, you may have to tap them lightly with a hammer . Add Wrap-around Frame Panel Y ou will need: wrap around frame panel and a wrench.
B-3 (1) (2) (1) (2) (3) Add cooking bo x (assembly) Y ou will need: frame assembly , cooking bo x (assembly), 2 inch bolt, n ylon washer , keps n ut, pliers and a 7/16 inch or adjustable wrench. Place the cooking box (assembly) in the frame assembly so the burner tubes(1) are under the frame brace(2).
B-4 (1) (2) Install Gas Supply General Specifications f or Piping Note - Contact your local m unicipality for b uilding codes regulating outdoor gas barbecue installations. In absence of Local Codes, y ou must confirm to the latest edition of ANSI Z223.
B-5 Install igniter Note - The igniter wires are already attached to the Gas Catcher Ignition Chamber and the igniter . This was done to f actor y test the ignition system. The igniter lock nut is on the igniter . 1) Loosen the igniter lock nut. 2) Insert the top of the igniter up through the large part of the keyhole in the frame brace.
B-6 Check that all b urner valves are off Y ou will need: burner control knobs. V alves are shipped in the OFF position, but you should check to be sure that they are turned OFF . Put the knob on each valve. Check by pushing down and turning clockwise.
B-7 (1) (2) (1) (2) (3) Check: 1) Hose to manifold connection. W ARNING: If there is a leak a connection(1), retighten the fitting with a wrench and rechec k for leaks with soap and water solution. If a leak persists after retightening the fitting, turn OFF the gas.
B-8 Install the slide out bottom tray Y ou will need: the slide out bottom tra y(1), catch pan holder(2), catch pan and one disposable drip pan. Hook the ends of the catch pan holder into the hole in the slide out bottom tray . The front of the catch pan holder must be on the same side as the finger grip(1) of the bottom tray .
B-9 Install Lid Y ou will need: lid, two hair pin cotters(1) and two hinge pins(2). Place lid on top of the cooking box. Align the hinges at the rear of the barbecue. Insert hinge pins through the hinges from the outside. Insert hair pin cotters into the small holes in the hinge pins.
C-1 Installing Features Install the right trim piece with tool holders Y ou will need: Right tr im piece with tool holders Push the Right trim piece into the frame as shown(1), making sure that the tabs on the underside of the trim piece are snapped into the slots in the frame .
C-2 Install the thermometer Y ou will need: Ther mometer . Inser t the ther mometer into its holder on the right side of the lid. Installing the warming rack Y ou will need: warming rack. Set the warming rack into the slots at the rear of the cooking bo x.
D-1 Lighting Summar y lighting instructions are on the control panel. D ANGER F ailure to open the lid while igniting the barbecue’ s burner s, or not waiting 5 minutes to allo w the gas to clear if the barbecue does not light, may result in an explosive flame-up whic h can cause serious bodily injury or death.
D-2 T o Extinguish T urn gas supply OFF at the source, then push down and turn each b urner control knob c lockwise to the OFF position. Manual Lighting D ANGER F ailure to open lid while igniting.
D-3 Cooking W ARNING: Do not mo ve the W eber Gas Barbecue when operating or while barbecue is hot. Y ou can adjust the FRONT and BA CK burners as desired. The control settings: High (H), Medium (M), Low (L), or Off (O) are described in your Weber cookbook.
D-4 Annual Maintenance After a period of nonuse, we recommend that y ou perf orm the following maintenance procedures f or y our saf ety . W ARNING: Check the hose bef ore each use of the barbecue for nic ks, cracking, abrasions or cuts. If the hose is found to be damaged in an y way , do not use the barbecue.
D-5 General Maintenance Weber Spider Stopper™ Guards Y our W eber Gas Barbecue, as well as any outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. They can nest in the v entur i section (–V enturi(1), air shutter(2), venturi fin(3)–) of the b ur ner tubes .
D-6 (2) (1) Replacing Main Burners 1) Y our W eber Gas Barbecue must be OFF and cool. 2) T urn gas OFF at source. 3) T o remov e control panel: take off the b ur ner control knobs. Remov e the screws holding the control panel in place. Lift off the control panel.
D-7 Cr osso ver® Ignition System Operations If the Crossov er Ignition System fails to ignite the Left burner , light the Left burner with a match. If the Left burner lights with a match, then check the Crosso v er Ignition System. ■ Check that both the white(1) and b lack(2) ignition wires are attached properly .
T r oubleshooting Pr oblem Chec k Cure Burners b urn with a yellow or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Inspect Weber Spider Stopper Guards for possib le instructions. (Blockage of holes .) Clean Weber Spider Stopper Guards. (See Section “Ann ual Maintenance”) Burner does not light, or flame is low in HIGH position.
