Wadia Digit al – a Brief History Wadia Digital, founded in 1988, is one of the original companies dedicated to high performance digital audio reproduction.

Optimizing Preformance For optimum sonic performance when using iPod we highly recommend that you store music at the highest bit rate you can justify . Storing music files at higher bit rates will require substantially more storage space on your computer and iPod, however , the sonic improvement is self evident.
Installation Unpacking Use care in unpacking your Wadia 170iT ransport. Inspect it for any signs of shipping damage and call your dealer immediately if any is found. Do not plug you r W adia 17 0iT ransp ort into any outlet if yo u find shipping damage.
Installing Battery in Remote Control The Wadia 170iT ransport remote control will ship with the required batter y preinstalled. However , you will need to remove the clear plastic insert tab from the battery to allow operation of the remote.

Making a Digital Connection Connect your chosen cable from the S/ PDIF Coaxial Digital Audio output on the Wadia 170iT ransport (connection 2 in iT ra nsport Outp uts illustratio n) to the corresponding digital input on your Digital to Analog Convertor , Digital A / V Receiver or Digital Preamp/ Processor .
Making a Component V ideo Connection Connect your chosen cable from the Component V ideo output on the Wadia 170iT ransport (conne ction 5 in the iT r ansport Outp uts illustratio n) to the corresponding Component Video input on your T elevision, A / V Receiver or Preamp Processor .

◆ Connecting the iPod Connect your iPod once you have properly installed the appropriate dock insert. Gen tly sli de the i Pod dow n into t he dock i nser t. Make sure to a lign th e conne ctio n on the bottom of the iPod with the multi-pin metal connector located within the plastic dock insert.
iPod Functionality The Wadia 170iT ransport supports the following iPod models. Each model has its own characteristics which affect the 170iT ransport. iPod nano G1 * wi ll on ly ou tpu t di git al au dio w hi le in t he “e xte nd ed interface” mode.

Using the Remote Control The W adia 1 70i T rans por t com es wit h a bas ic rem ote control. The basic remote will allow limited control of the iPod. Play/ Pause, Next T rack, and Previous T rack are supported. An optional Wadia cast aluminum r emote is also supported for the same functionality as the basic remote.
Remote Buttons and Functionality | << : This symbol is the previous track button. It T akes the iPod to the beginning of the current track, or to the previous track if the current track is beyond 10 seconds of play . >> | : This symbol is the next track button.
Using the Analog Outputs The W adia 17 0iT ranspo rt cannot output digi tal and ana log audio s imultan eously . Therefore, to use the analog outputs you will have to activate them. T o do this, first insert the iPod into the W adia 170iT ransport. Y ou will have to use the mode button on the remote.

T rouble Shooting Connections: Do not force any of these connections. If the connection does not go in smoothly , back it out and retry . Damage to the Wadia 170iT ransport or its supplied accessories caused by user error will not be covered under the Manufacturers W arranty .
