4 15 Completing the First-Time Setup The first time y ou turn on the TV , the Setup App will guide you thr ough each of the st eps necessar y to get y our TV r eady f or use. 5 17 CHANGING THE INPUT SOURCE Ext ernal devices such as D VD players , Blu-Ray Play ers, and video game consoles can be connect ed t o your TV . T o use one of these devices with y our TV , you m ust first change the input sour ce in the on-scr een men u.
5 18 SETTING UP CLOSED CAPTIONING Y our TV can display closed captions for pr ogr ams that include them. Closed captions display a tr anscription of a pr ogr am’ s dialogue. If the pr ogr am you ar e vie wing is not being br oadcast with closed captions, the TV will not display them.
5 19 ACTIVATING THE SLEEP TIMER When activ at ed, the TV’ s sleep timer will turn the TV of f aft er a set period of time. T o use the sleep timer: 1 . Pr ess the MENU butt on on the r emot e. 5 20 Backlight - Adjusts the brightness to af fect the o v er all brilliance of the pictur e. This option is only available when Ambient Light Sensor is set to Of f . Brightness - Adjusts the black le v el of the pictur e. When this setting is t oo lo w , the pictur e may be t oo dark t o distinguish det ails.
5 21 • Ambient Light Sensor - The ambient light sensor det ects the light lev els in the r oom and automatically adjusts the backlight f or the best pictur e. Select Off , Lo w , Medium, or High. 4 . When y ou hav e finished adjusting the Adv anced Pictur e settings, press the EXIT butt on on the remot e .
5 22 Adjusting the Pictur e Size and Position When displaying an image, the size and position of the display image can be adjust ed. T o adjust the pictur e size and position: 1 . Fr om the Pictur e menu, use the Arr ow butt ons on the remot e t o highlight More , then pr ess OK .

5 28 Changing the A udio Language Some digit al fr ee-t o-air and cable channels br oadcast pr ogr ams in mor e than one language. The TV’ s MTS (Multichannel T elevision Sound) f eatur e allo ws you t o list en t o audio in y our pr ef err ed language.
5 29 Enabling or Disabling Pr ogram Ratings T o manage pr ogr am cont ent accor ding t o its r ating, you m ust enable the Pr ogr am Rating featur e . T o enable or disable the Pr ogr am Rating f eatur e: 1 . Fr om the P ar ent al Contr ols men u, highlight Rating Enable and pr ess OK .

5 32 Adjusting the CEC Settings The CEC function on y our TV enables you t o control HDMI-connect ed devices with the included r emote without an y additional pr ogr amming. Not all HDMI devices support CEC. See your de vice’ s user manual f or det ails .
