Abbreviations and T erminology 3 General Information General Information The Forum IPh one PC is a system term inal that can be operated using the Forum 500. This system terminal is a PC -software based communications solution. No specific hardw are, other than the communications system, is requi red to operate the F orum IPhone PC.
Abbreviations and T erminology 4 General Information Codecs: Compression (and decompression ) of audio data, in real ti me, before transportation via the Intern et Protocol, thus reducing net- work load. DirectSound: Application programmi ng interface developed by Microsoft for controlling the sound card.

In a standard DirectX installation , DirectSound is configure d with default settings that minimize processor load, but which ma y also reduce audio quality .

This symbol s hows the terminal’ s current state. When you mo ve the mouse over the symbol, the state is shown as text.
