2 Introduction Thank you for purchasing this d igit al video recorder . Everything you need to take quality digital photos and videos is included with y our camera. Viv itar ma kes capturing those special moments as easy as possible. Please read this manual carefully first in order to get the most out of your digital camera.

4 Initial Camera Set up Inst alling the Batt eries Inst alling the Mem ory Card T o Charge the Battery : - Insert the battery (as shown above). - Power Of f the camera. - Connect the camera w ith the USB cable either to the AC adapter or to the computer .
5 W hen pow ering the digital video recorder ON for the first time the digital video recorder will take you through the initial setup. Powering th e Digi t al video recorder ON 1. Make sure the lithium battery has been charged and inserted properly into your digit al video recorder .
6 Setting th e V ivi Link Defaul t Option Once the Language has been set, you will be asked to “Confirm ViviLink Photo and Vid eo Social Network site” to set the default V iviLink destin ation for photos and videos t aken w ith your camera.
7 Main Camera Modes Y our camera has different modes for the v arious camera functions. Y ou ca n switch m odes by pressing the MODE (M) button on your came ra after the came ra has been powered ON. V ideo Capture Mode Use this mode to capture videos with your digital ca mera.

9 Computer Sy stem Requirements – WINDOWS OS T o be able to dow nload photos and videos t o your PC, you will need the following minimum configuration: Pentium 4 proc essor or above with W indow.
10 Using Your D igital Camer a Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digit a l camera. If your came ra comes with a rech argeable lithium ba ttery , make sure it is fully charged before the first use. Make sure an SD card has been inserted into your camera .
11 W hen the camera is first p owered ON, the Video Capture Mode will b e active. The icons that appear on the LCD screen are the best default settings so that y ou can begin to capture and enjoy clear quality videos and photos. T o change the active camera mode, make sure the camera is powered ON and press the MODE (M) button .
12 Video Capture Mode The Video Capture Mo de allows you to capture videos with your digital camera. W hen t he camera is first powered ON, the camera wil l be in Video Capture Mode. T aking a V ideo 1. W hile in Video Capture Mod e use the LCD display to d irect the camera at the sce ne you would like to capture.
13 Hide/Sho w the LC D Icons The display of the icons on the LCD screen can be hidden or visible as desired . 1. Hold the MODE button for 2 seconds to hide the display of the icons on the screen.
14 Scene Menu The Sc ene Menu allows y ou to choose scene settings that all ow your ca mera t o a dapt pro perly to your current environment. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Scene menu.
15 Image Quality Menu The Image Quality menu allow s y ou to select the desired quality level of the images taken by your camera. Keep in mind that ima ges with a higher im age quality level wil l also take up more memory on your camera. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode.
16 Color Effect M enu Y ou can choose to add a color ef fect to the images taken with y our camera. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the Color Ef fect menu.
17 Light Exposure Menu The Light Exposure setting helps you control the amount of light that ent ers your camera‟s lens. This setting should be adjusted when the environment is lighter or darker than normal.

20 Keep in mind that formatt ing th e memory card will permanently delete all of the content on your camera ’ s memory card . This option can on ly delete all of the content at one time. If you would like to delete indi vidual images, use the D elete menu in the camera‟s Play back mode.
21 Y ou will automatically exit the menu and return to the previous mode with the dig ital video recorder settings set to the Factory Default Settings. If you would like to exit the format, select „ Cancel and p ress the SET button. Y ou will automatically exit the menu and return to the previous mode.
22 Thumbnail V iew Use the W/Zoom Out button to display the images on your camera in Thumbnail V iew . The images (videos and photos) on your camera will be displayed in a 3 X 3 matrix where you can scroll and select images from the thumbnails. 1. Press the W/Zoom Out button.

25 If you do not w a nt to delete all of your videos and photos, se lect „ Cancel' an d press the SET button. All images will remain on your SD card and you will exit the menu and return to the Playback mode. Remember : The Delete menu can also be accessed simply by pushing and holding down the Right Quick Function Button for 3 seconds .
26 Hide/Sho w the LC D Icons The display of the icons on the LCD screen can be hidden or visible as desired . 1. Hold the MODE button for 2 seconds to hide the display of the icons on the screen. 2. Press the MODE button again to redisplay the icons on the screen.

33 W hen the camera sits idle f or the designated period of time, the camera will shut off completely and will need to be pow ered on a gain with the power button before the nex t use. 1. Press th e SET button t o open the menus for the current mode. 2.
34 Format Memory Card Menu Y ou can use the Format Memory Card menu to delete a ll of the content that is currently on your camera‟s memory card. Keep in mind th at formatting the memory card will permanently del ete al l of the content on your camera ’ s memory card .
35 If you would like to proceed with the reset, select „Y es‟ and press the SET button to confirm. The settings will be reset. Y ou will automatically exit the menu and return to the previous mode with the dig ital video recorder settings set to the Factory Default Settings.
36 Thumbnail V iew Use the W/Zoom Out button to d isplay the i mages on your camera in Thumbnail View . The images (videos and phot os) on your camera will be displayed in a 3 X 3 matrix where you can scroll and select images from the thumbnails. 1. Press the W/Zoom Out button.

38 Protect/Lock Menu Pictures and Vi deos taken with your camera can be protected or “locked” to prevent a ny deletion or alteration being made to the files. 1. Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT directio n control buttons t o scroll a nd select the Protect/Lock menu.
39 All of your images will be permanently deleted. A blan k „No Files Exist‟ screen will appear . Press the MODE button to exi t the „No Files Exist‟ scre en an d return to V ideo Capture mode. Remember : All your images will be deleted except images that are Protected/Locked.
40 On plugging the TV Cable (supplied) to the camera‟s A V slot and to the TV , the LCD screen tur ns blank. Use the digital video recorder as you would to capture and playback photos and videos. The images will appear on the TV instead of on the LCD screen .
41 Installing the Soft w are Y ou must be connected to the internet to inst all and run the Vivit ar Experience Image Manager sof tware. 1. Insert the installation CD into your CD -ROM drive. The installation screen should automatically open. 2. On PC: The Vivitar Experience Image Manager Installer window a ppears.
42 5. If you have internet access, the “Choose your language” window opens, choose your language and click “Next” to open the next w indow . 6. Select your camera model from the list and c lick “Next” to open the next window . 7. Click “N ext” to confirm your camera model selection and to install the application.
43 Getting Photos and Videos from your Camera to Your C omputer An SD card needs to be inse rt ed. Do not disconnect the cable during transfer . Doing so will cancel the transfer of any files on their w ay to your computer . 1. Select the “Get Images” button from the Main menu.
