ViewSonic PJ510 2 Features Projector Features This multimedia projector is used to project various computer signals as well as NTSC/P AL/ SECAM video signals onto a screen. Little space is required for installation and lar ge images can easily be realized.
3 ViewSonic PJ510 Part Names The Projector Projector (Front/Right) Fastening The Lens Cap T o avoid losing, please fasten the lens cap to the projector using the strap. 1 Fix the strap to the strap ring of lens cap, as the right drawing. 2 Put one piece of the strap into the groove on rivet, as the right drawing.
ViewSonic PJ510 4 Projector (Rear/Lef t) POWER indicator tells the state of power sup- ply . Refer to the section “T urning On/Off Power”. ST ANDBY/ON button prepares for turning the power on/off. Refer to the section “T urning On/Of f Power”.
5 ViewSonic PJ510 The Remote Control RGB button selects the input signal of RGB port . SEARCH button searches for an input signal between the following signal ports of RGB, VIDEO, S-VIDEO and COMPONENT VIDEO. AUTO button executes automatic adjustment (ST ANDBY/ON) button prepares for turning the power on/off.

7 ViewSonic PJ510 Adjusting The Projector ’ s Elevator Y ou can use the elevator feet to make adjustme nts if the surface on which you need to set the projector is uneven or if you othe rwise need to adjust the angle of projection. The adjustment range of the elevator feet is 0 to 9 degrees.

ViewSonic PJ510 12 Operating The Remote Control • The remote control works with the projector ’ s remote sensor . • The range of the remote sensor is 3 meters with a 60-degree range (30 degrees to the left a nd right of the remote sensor). Also a remote signal reflected in the screen etc.

Power off the projector af ter the connected devices. 1 Make sure that the power cord is firmly and correctly connected to the projector and outlet.
ViewSonic PJ510 14 Selecting An Input Signal 1 Using the projector ’ s control button Press the INPUT button. As illustrated below , each time you press the INPUT button, the projector switches between its input signal ports. Select the signal you wish to project.

As illustrated on the right, a dialog box will appear on the screen to aid you in adjusting the volume. 2 Use the ( S ), ( T ) buttons to a djust the volume. Press the VOLUME button again to close the dialog box and complete this operation.

As illustrated on the right, a dialog box will appear on the screen to aid you in adjusting the position. 2 Use the ( W ), ( X ), ( S ), ( T ) buttons to adjust the position. When you want to initialize the position, press the RESET button during adjustment.
ViewSonic PJ510 18 Using The Automatic Adjustment Feature 1 Press the AUTO button. Automatic Adjustment for RGB Input Horizontal position (H.POS IT), vertical position (V .POSIT), clock phase (H.PHASE) and horizontal size (H.SIZ E) are automatically adjusted.
19 ViewSonic PJ510 Using The Magnify Feature 1 Press the MAGNIFY (ON) button The projector enters MAGNIFY mode. 2 Press the POSITION button, then use the ( W ), ( X ), ( S ), ( T ) buttons to select the area to zoom. Press the POSITION button agai n to finalize the zoom area.
ViewSonic PJ510 20 Signal Searching 1 Press the SEARCH button Cycles through input signals, displaying the images of retrieved signa ls. If no signal is found, it returns to the signal that was selected before the search was initialized. NOTE: • May not function properly with some input signals.
21 ViewSonic PJ510 Multifunctional Settings Using The Menu Functions This projector has the following menus: MAIN, PICTURE-1, PICTURE-2, INPUT , AUTO, SCREEN and OP TION. Each of these menus is operated using the same methods. The basic operations of these menus are as follows.

ViewSonic PJ510 30 Lamp HIGH V OL T AGE HIGH TEMPERA TURE HIGH PRESSURE WA R N I N G The projector uses a high-pressure mercury glass lamp made of glass. The lamp can br eak with a loud bang, or burn out , if jolted or scratched, handled while hot, or worn over time .
31 ViewSonic PJ510 Replacing The Lamp If the indicators or a message prompts you to replace the lamp, replace the lamp as s oon as possible. Using the lamp for long periods of time, or past the replacement date , co uld c aus e i t to bur st.
ViewSonic PJ510 32 Air Filter Caring For The Air Filter The air filter should be cleaned about every 100 hours. If the indicat ors or a message prompts you to clean the air filter , clean the air fi lter as soon as possible. If the air filter becomes clogged by dust or the like, internal temperature rises and could cause malfunction.
33 ViewSonic PJ510 Replacing The Air Filter If the soiling will not come off the air filter , or it becomes damaged, then it needs to be replaced. Please replace the air filter as soon as possible. 1 T urn of f the projector , and unplug the power cord.
ViewSonic PJ510 34 Other Care Caring For The Inside Of The Projector In order to ensure the safe use of your projector , please have it cleaned and inspected by your local dealer about once every 2 years. Never try to care for the inside of the unit yourself.
35 ViewSonic PJ510 T r oubleshooting Related Messages When the unit's power is ON, messages such as those shown below may be displayed. When any such message is displayed on the screen, please respond as described below .

Hold the release buttons of the filte r cover , while pulling it up. 3 W ipe the transparent area of the filter cover by using a swab or a soft cloth.
