1. TYPICAL INST ALLA TIONS Installations ma y vary according to the model number and the position in which the unit is installed. Use the f ollowing illustr ations as guidelines to help you decide on ho w your unit will be installed. All the units should be hung from the joists, and installed either v er tically or horizontally .

All 3 types of installations can be used in the attic (Stand Alone, Central Dr aw P oint or Retur n-Retur n). The example sho wn bel ow i s a Return-Retur n installation (connection to a forced air system). VH0051 - 6 - A por tion of stale air is exhausted to the outside and the rest is dr awn to the unit.

- 8 - 3.3 L OCA TING THE U NIT Choose an appropriate location for the unit. • Within an area of the house where the ambient temperature is between 10°C (50°F) and 65°C (149°F) (basement, furnace room, closet, etc.). • So as to provide easy access to the interior of the unit, f or filter maintenance.
- 9 - 1. Route the cable from the unit to a con venient location f or the wall control. 2. Loosen the locking scre w (the screw cannot be completely remo ved). 3. Detach the f aceplate from the mounting plate by pulling the bottom par t. If necessar y , bore the mounting holes and inser t anchors.
7. T urn the unit switch knob to OFF position in order to unloc k the door. Unlatch the door and open it. If required, the door can be removed. T o do so , remov e the stopper ( A ) located on the right side of the door hinge. Then, hold the door and hit with your palm its left side .
5.2 H OW TO H ANG THE U NIT Use the 4 chains and springs in the hardware pack pro vided with the unit. According to your needs , you can install the unit either in vertical or hor izontal position.

5.5 I NST ALLING I NSULA TED F LEXIBLE D UCTS Use the f ollowing procedure f or connecting the insulated flexib le ducts to the T andem® transition* ( EXHA UST AIR TO OUTSIDE and FRESH AIR FROM OUTSIDE ).

5.6 I NST ALLING D UA L E XTERIOR H OOD ( CONT ’ D ) 5.6.3 C ONNECTING T ANDEM ® TRANSITION TO EXTERIOR D UAL H OOD ( CONT ’ D ) 2. Join the end of the T andem transition to the rear of the e xter ior backplate. Secure with 2 Xmas tree pins and seal properly with duct tape.
6.1 M AIN S WITCH All units are equipped with a 3-position main s witch, located on the front panel. 6.2 40415 AND 40425 W ALL C ONTR OLS D ESCRIPTION The included wall control is 40415 (intented f or HR V 2600, HEP A 3100 and HEP A 4100 units only) or 40425 control (intented for HR 2.
6.4 W ALL C ONTROLS C ONFIGURA TION See the configuration tab le below f or the list of configuration parameters. Press the Menu b utton for 3 seconds to enter or e xit the configuration menu. NO TE: The wall control automatically sav es any changes and e xits the configuration menu if no b utton is pressed within the ne xt 60 seconds.
