Bottom View 1. Tripod Connector: Atta ches th e cam era to a tri pod. This is an optional accessory that can be used t o hold the camera still and is especially useful for low light night pict ures. 2. Battery / Memory Card Cover: Opens to allow access to the batt ery chambers as well as the memory card slot.
Digital Camera User’s Manual Install the Memory Card To install the memory card: 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Open the batt ery / memory card compartment by pressing on the cov er and sliding in the direction of the ar row towar d the o utsid e edg e of the cam era.

Digital Camera User’s Manual Install the Batteries To install or replace the batteries: 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Op en the battery com partm ent on the botto m of the camera by pressing on the cov er and sliding in the direction of t he arrow toward the outside edge of the camera.
3. Insert batt eries into the chamber making sure that the posi tive and negative ends are properly oriented, as indicated on the comp artment’ s inter ior w all.
Digital Camera User’s Manual Choose a Language The digital camera can display text and messages in English, French, Spanish, Ge rman, Italian and Japanese. To select a different language: 1. Rotate t he Mode Dial to S etup mo de . 2. Turn the camera on.

Digital Camera User’s Manual Chapter 2 - Taking Pictures Thi s cha pter sh ows y ou h ow to ta ke pi ctures with y our digital camera. Prepare the Camera To prepare the camera for picture taking: 1. Pr ess th e Powe r butto n to tur n it o n. A fter a shor t pause, the LED will stop flashing, which is the signal that t he camera is ready for use.
Select the Camera Mode There are two modes for taking pictures: Snapshot and Preset. Snapshot mode is for basic picture t aking, while the Preset mode allows you to take pictures in one of five preset schemes: Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, Self-Timer and Macro.

Chapter 3 - Reviewing Your Pictures One benefit of digital cameras is th at you can immediately check whether or not you like the picture you just t ook. After you t ake a picture you can see what it looks like and then ret ake it if you are not happy.

Chapter 4 - Connecting to a Computer The digital camera stores pictures as digit al data rather than on film. Instead of making a t rip to a developer and printing from negative s, you can simply copy your pictures to a computer for long-term st orage.
Digital Camera User’s Manual Installing Software Follow these ins truction s to ins tall the dig ital cam era drivers and software on your syst em. Please have your Windows CD-ROM ready beforehand, as you may be prompted to insert it during the installation process.
Step 2: MSD / PC Camera Driver Installation 1. To install the necessary driv ers for Mass Storage Device (MSD) mode and PC Camera mode, first set the correct operational mode for that func tion . Fo r exa mple, set th e Mo de Di al to P C Camera mode to install those driv ers, and to any other mode to install Mass Storage Device driv ers.

W hen connected, the camera may be used in conjunction with any commercially av ailable video capture software t o create your own home videos.

Playback Mode The Playback mode is used to view the photos st ored in the digital camera’s on-board memory or on t he SmartMedia™ memory card.
• Zoom Out: In Snapshot Mode , widens the field framed by the camera’s lens from x4.0 to x1.0. If you zoom out while in Playback mode the camera switches to Thumbnail mode. • Zoom In: Narrows the field framed by the camera’s lens from x1.0 to x4.

Quality Adjust the image qualit y an d resolution by selecting Quality from t he Setu p menu. There are five diffe rent pictu re resolut ions available: 2048 x 1536 (Super) 7 Photos 1600 x 1200 (Fine).
