In addition to monit or ing your heart rate as you exercise, be certain of how quickly your hear t rate re c overs . If your heart rat e is over 120 beats per minut e five minutes after exercising , or is higher than normal the morning after ex ercising , your exertion may b e too stren uous for your current le ve l of fitne ss.
