13 AUTOMATIC CONTROL You can o nly use the autom atic con trol f or th e ma in oven. Wh en you use t he auto matic c ontrols for the first time it’s pro bably bes t to choose a time w hen you are at home.

18 USES OF THE TOP OV EN The top oven is the smaller of the two ovens . It is heated by ele ments in the top and bottom of the ov en. It is designed for cook ing on one leve l and for small qua ntities of food. It gives es pecially go od resu lts if us ed to cook fruit cakes , sweet or savo ury fla ns or qu iche.

It is particular ly suitable for d elicate fr ozen fo ods w hich a re to be served cold e.g. cr eam filled ga teaux , cakes c overed with icings o r frostin gs, cheese cakes, bi scuit s, scones etc.

26 HINTS AND TIPS TO REDUCE HOB SOILAGE: • Make sure the bottom of the sauc epan and the cooking area ar e clean and dry bef ore cook ing begins. • Ensure sauc epans are large en ough to accommo date food to avoi d boil ov ers. • If possible, wipe up spills and s platters as th ey occur, but t ake car e to avo id steam burns.

28 CLEANING BETWEEN THE OUTER AND INNER DOOR GLASS The outer d oor glass is remov ab le for clea ning. TO REMOVE THE OUT ER GLASS 1. Open the ov en door sl ightly to ga in acces s to the two cr oss hea d screws on the top of the oven door . 2. Loosen the two screws us ing a Pozidr ive screwdr iver.
