EN 12 9) Using the touch screen Scrolling The home screen of your SurfT ab ex tends 9 pages to the right of the first window . Y ou can set up these pages by placing apps or widgets on the possible further pages (see Sec tion 10). Slide your finger from right to left (or the reverse) across the screen to access these pages .
EN 13 Selecting an element T o open an element or select an option, br iefly touch the icon you requir e with your finger . i If you want to close a rec ently used element (app, widget, menu), tap the display of all open elements. Place y our finger on the element that you want to close and drag the element to the left or right to close it.
EN 14 Enlarging and r educing the view Y ou can enlarge the display of some views (images, websites etc.). T o enlarge the display , move two fingers apart on the screen or tap the display twice in quick succession.
EN 15 10) P ersonalising the home screen Y ou can set up the home screen (as well as the additional pages) according to your wishes by adding or removing app shortcuts and widgets and altering the background. Adding apps to the home scr een a) T ap the applications menu in the quick start bar on the home screen.
EN 16 Changing the screen backgr ound a) T ouch an empty area of the screen background until " W a ll p a peR s " appears on t h e lower edge of the screen. T ap the symbol to display the available backgrounds . b) Now scr oll through the images, select a motif and confirm your selection via " s et W allp apeR ".
EN 17 f ) As soon as you have unlocked the screen, a configuration assistant will start. This assistant will guide you through the pr ocess of setting up a new user account. i Select " r eStricted profiLe " to define the user rights for the new user.
EN 18 14) Setting up/removing an email account Setting up an email account a) Make sure that your Sur fT ab is connec ted to the Internet. b) Select " e-m ail " in the quick start bar or on the applications menu. c) Enter a valid email address in the upper input field and the associated password in the lower input field .
EN 19 i T o be able to download apps via the Google Play Store, you require a Google account. If you have not yet set up a Google ac count, a configur ation assistant will start the first time you open the Play Store app. The configur ation assistant will guide you through the proc ess of setting up a Google account.
EN 20 16) Using the camera T ap the camera icon in the applications menu or in the quick star t bar . The following scr een appears: T ak ing a photo Hold the Sur fT ab with the camera in the required direction and press the shutter button (16 B). The pic ture is saved and the SurfT ab br iefly displays a preview of the photo.
EN 21 Editing photos a) Briefly tap the lower edge of the display to show the task bar . Now tap the home icon to exit camera mode. b) Open the gallery by tapping the " p hot os " symbol in the applications menu or in the quick start bar. c) Now tap the photo that you would like to edit.
EN 22 17) Connecting other devices Connecting the Sur fT ab to a computer a) Connect the Sur fT ab to your computer with the Micro-USB cable provided . b) A short moment later, the memory of the Sur fT ab will be shown as an ex ternal drive in your computer’ s file explorer .
EN 23 Connecting to a television via Miracast™ Miracast technology is a peer-to-peer standard for image transf er . The Sur fT ab supports this standard and enables wireless transfer of image and sound from the Sur fT ab to a W iFi and Miracast-enabled television device.
EN 24 18) Activating standby mode If you do not want to use your SurfT ab for a while, press the on/off swit ch briefly to put the SurfT ab into standby mode and save power . T o exit standby mode, briefly press the on/off switch again. Once you have reactivated the SurfT ab, it will initially display the lock screen.
EN 25 g) Briefly press both volume butt ons simultaneously when the Android logo appears on the display . h) Use the volume control butt ons to navigate through the menu and use the on/off switch to select an option. i T o restore the SurfT ab to its factory settings, select the option " wipe da ta / f ac tor y r eSet ".
