9 Introduction * MENU button Use the MENU button to displa y the menu included on many D VDs. T o operate a menu, follo w the instructions in “Locating a title using the top men u. ” 18 * RETURN button Return to menu displa y for VCD (2.0) discs with menu.
10 Introduction Open the cover . Insert batteries (R03/AAA size). Make sure to match the + and – on the batteries to the marks inside the batter y compar tment. Caution • Never throw batteries into a fi re. Notes • Be sure to use R03/AAA size batteries.

16 Basic playbac k T o turn the power off Press ON/ST ANDBY to turn the unit off. Notes • Do not move the D VD player during playbac k. Doing so may damage the disc. • Use the OPEN/CLOSE button to open and close the disc tray . Do not push the disc tray while it is mo ving.

20 Advanced pla yback Repeating a Speci fi c Segment Y ou can specify a desired segment and repeat it. Repeating a specifi c segment T o resume normal playback Press A-B RPT until RepAB Off is displayed. Notes • Some discs may not permit A-B repeat operation.
21 Advanced pla yback Playing in a Favorite Order Y ou can combine your f av orite titles, chapters or tracks and pla y them in the order you determine. Y ou can program up to 12 selections into the memory (Memor y playback). Insert a disc and press MEMORY during stop.
22 Advanced pla yback Zooming a Picture Y ou can magnify areas within a picture. Press ZOOM during normal, slow or still playbac k. The centre par t of the image will be zoomed in. Each time you press the ZOOM b utton, the magnifi cation lev el changes as follo ws: Press the ZOOM button to select the magnification lev el.
