18 INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE Installing NERO ® Burning Rom The NVR Software has bee n designed to work with Nero Burning Softwar e Version 8. Wh en installed, Nero will enable back up to th e CD ROM directly within the NVR So ftware.
19 Registering the NVR Software Have the following information ava ilable before r egistering. Software Serial Number: T hat product Serial Number is the u nique number th at Toshiba prov ided with the pu rchase software. System ID: The System ID is a unique code g enerated usin g the MAC address of the com puter running t he software.
20 5. Verify the informat ion. 6. Click Next if the informatio n provided is correct. 7. Once validate d, the user will b e provided w ith the Unlock Code. 8. Print the page and save for later r eference. Unlocking the Upgrade 1. Return to Setup > Network Cameras > License .
21 DISPLAY SCREEN Each time the DVR s tarts, the program defa ults to the Dis play screen. T he following dia gram outlines th e buttons and f eatures us ed on the Display s creen. You s hould become familiar with thes e options as this is the sc reen that w ill be display ed the majority of the time.
22 CAMERA VIEW Recording Status Indicator The camera s tatus for each cam era is display ed in the upp er right corner on the Video Displ ay Area. The fol lowing are the diff erent states for each c amera: Recording Displayed when the c amera is curren tly being recorde d to the DVR.
23 SCREEN DIVISION BUTTONS The Screen Divisi on menu allows y ou to view camer as in groups s uch as two by two, thr ee by three and f our by four. The button options are shown below. 1st Four Cameras View – Displays c ameras 1-4 in the Video Display Area.
24 Custom Live View Divisions Customize yo ur Live View screen by changing th e order of the c ameras. Eac h screen divis ion can be indiv idually cus tomized but a camera can only b e displayed onc e (once in 4 c amera v iew, once in 9 ca mera view, etc).

26 SETUP OVERVIEW The Setup options allow you to opti mize your DVR by adjus ting things lik e camera names , reboot schedules , recording sc hedules and mor e.

32 MOTION SETUP The DVR allows the user t o adjust several d ifferent Moti on Settings and c reate motion d etection areas. Create a Motion Area 1. Click Motion in Setup . 2. Select a camera fr om the Select Camera list. 3. Select the Det ect Detail Motion Area check box .
33 Activating an Alarm on a Motion Event 1. In the Motion Setup wind ow, select a c amera to edit fr om the Camera list. 2. Create a motion area. 3. Select the Al arm Output c heck box. 4. Select a Control Output to activate for the sel ected camera. 5.
34 GENERAL SETUP Function Beep on Login Fail Enables the DVR to be ep continuous ly in response t o a failed login attempt. Only an authorized l ogin will stop the beep ing. Sequence Setting Allows the video out picture to automaticall y cycl e through channels at a set spee d.
35 Connecting to a Wide Screen Display 1. Click Exit on the Display s creen and selec t Exit in Windows Mo de . 2. Right-click the Desktop and select Properties . 3. Click the Settings tab. 4. Drag the Screen Resolution b ar to the proper reso lution of the c onnected display .
36 Volume The volume contro l allows fine tuni ng of the vol ume settings on th e DVR. Volume Options: • Slider Controls – Used to a djust the literal v olume for the respective devi ces listed.
37 Auto Sequence Setting Auto Sequencing i s available either in the Dis play screen wh en Auto Sequenc ing has been enabled or when a Spot-Monitor out sig nal is used to dis play on a spot monitor. 38 SCHEDULE SETUP Recording Schedule The Recording Sched ule window allows the user to cr eate different r ecording sc hedules based o n the day, time, and type of r eco rding desired.
39 Sensor Schedule The Sensors will supers ede all other types of recordin g modes (Mot ion and Contin uous). Regardles s of the re cording schedule of a particular camera, if a sensor even t occurs the as sociated cameras will begin rec ording as a Sens or Event.
40 Create a Recording Schedule 1. Select a day to begin crea ting the schedule for -or- cli ck Single Day Selection , ena bl ing Multi Day Selectio n , to create the same schedule for multiple days. 2. Highlight the Time-Blocks with i n the Recording Schedule window for the camera(s) selected to s chedule.
41 Special Day Schedule The user can crea te days that hav e a unique r ecording sc hedule. If nece ssary create thes e on days that are ‘not typ ical’ such as Holidays, Special Events, etc. Creating/Editing a ‘Sp ecial Day’ Schedule 1. Click Normal Day Mode to enable the Special Day Mo de .
42 System Restart Setup System Restart Setup allows the us er to define a sc hedule wherein the DVR automatic ally restarts ac cording to specif ied parame ters. Create System Restart Schedule 1. Click Schedule on the Setup s creen. 2. Click Restart Setup .
43 NETWORK SETUP Network Setup allows the user to adjust settings such as Po rts, setup emergency PPP informat ion for use with t he Emergency Age nt and enable Remot e Access. Time Out Value When attempting t o connect to th e DVR, if the connecti on does not suc ceed during t he timeout period (seconds), t he connecti on will be terminat ed.
44 ADMINISTRATIVE SETUP Disk Management The Disk Management window is a native Windows fu nction. This wind ow displays th e partition s cheme and hea lth status of th e Ha rd Disk Drives in the DVR. This window is ofte n used to troub leshoot a DVR, or verify t he amount of Har d Drive storage installed.
45 User Management The User Management Console allo ws the administrat or to create, ed it, and delete us er accounts. Eac h user acc ount can be assigned different priv ileges to limit the us age of the D VR system.
46 User Rank The User Ran king structure allows the optio n to assign a privil e ge system (1-10 where one h as the most rights) to users of the DVR Software. For exampl e. Since only one user is allow ed to use t he PTZ controls at any one time , an administr ator with a high er rank can kick another u ser out and take c ontrol of the PTZ.
47 Status Check / Email General 1. Click Setup on the Display sc reen. 2. Click Administrative . 3. Click Status Check/Email . 4. Select the En abl e Email Alarm chec k box. 5. Enter a From Name and e-mail Address . Note This name and a ddress will app ear in the From line of the email alert message.
48 Storage Check 1. Set up the General an d Users tabs fi rst. (see above) 2. Select the Use St orage Chec k check box. 3. Define the number of min utes. 4. Select an Alert Op tion, Beep or Popu p Message, if des ired. 5. Click Apply. Recording Data Check 1.
49 SMART Information The SMART Information tab display s Hard Drive infor mation. SMART Alert 1. Setup the General and Users tabs first. (see above) 2. Select the Enable SMART Alarm. 3. Define the number hours between SMART checks. 4. Select the ty pe of SMART even t to trigger an ac tion.

51 INFORMATION The Information di splay allows us ers to define the site code nec essary for connecti ng to remote s oftware, save c omments relati ve to the DVR and store tec h support and contact number inf ormation. Site Code A user-spec ified unique i dentification nam e used by oth er DVR software to ident ify the DVR.

54 SEARCH OVERVIEW The DVR has several opt ions that al low the user to ea sily search thro ugh, and find, a particular sec tion of video. Fr om Motion /S ensor indexing to calen dar views highli ghting days with recorded vi deo; the DVR is equ ipped to h elp the user quick ly find a spec ific video or event.
55 Adjust the Brightness of an Image 1. Select an ima ge to adjus t by double- clicking on th e desired image. Multiple im ages cannot b e adjusted at one time. 2. Move the Brightn ess slide bar to th e right or left to a djust the brightness. 3. Reset the Brightne ss by moving t he slider bac k to the center of the bar .
56 PERFORMING A BASIC SEARCH There are several different types o f searches that c an be performed on the DVR. The m ost basic inv olves selecting the date, ti me, camera, and clic king play. 1. Click the Calen dar button to s elect a date. 2. Select a time by clicking th e up and down arrows to the right of the time dis play.
57 SAVE TO JPG OR AVI The DVR can export single im ages in a JPG Image fi le format and sav e video clips i n an AVI format. Both JPG and AVI file f orm ats are the most com monly used graphi cal formats today . Virtually every computer offers some type of sup port for thes e file format s which make them the most ideal f ormats to us e.
58 Bookmarks Use bookmarks to mark a video clip during a search. Export bookmarke d data using th e Clip Backup featur e. 1. Perform a searc h for the desired vi deo. 2. Stop playbac k at the beg inning of the des ired clip. 3. Right-click the video and se lect Start Bookmark .
59 Single Clip Backup Along with the Sav e option, a sing le camera back up option is als o included with th e Surveillix software. The singl e Camera or Clip Backup allows the user to backup a single camer a without hAVIn g to backup mu ltiple cameras at a given time .
60 INDEX SEARCH Using the Index S earch can greatly decrease the amount of t ime spent searc hing through s aved video. The Index Search all ows a user to perform a search based o n criteria such as Se nsor, Motion an d Instant Record events Performing an Index Search 1.
61 PREVIEW SEARCH Preview Search c an be used in a number of circums tances to q uickly find an ex act moment where an event, s uch as a theft, oc cur red. The Preview Sear ch gives a 24 Ho ur visual overv iew of a single camera by separating a 24 hour period (1 day) into 24 images, on e image for each ho ur of the day.
62 Performing a Preview Search 1. Select a sing le camera by eit her turning of f all camera s but one or dou ble-clicking a displayed im age. 2. Click Preview Search . 24 images display. If ther e is no recorded v ideo during a portion of t he day, “N o Image” will be dis played where the image s hould be.
63 OBJECT SEARCH Object Search is a powerf ul search utility that is us ed to search a r egion on the v ideo for any mot ion changes. Results are n eatly displayed and c an be view ed quickly . 64 MOTION SEARCH The Motion Searc h provides a dy namic display of the lev els of motion in recorded vide o. Adjust the level of moti on to only pl ay clips of video at or ab ove that level.
65 SEARCH IN LIVE The Search in Liv e feature allows u sers to review events immediately w hile monitori ng live video. Pause, rewind, an d resume l iv e video within secon ds of an alarm eve nt or suspicious ac tivity. 1. Move the mous e cursor over t he desired l ive video d isplay on the Live Display s creen.

68 PAN / TILT / ZOOM OVERVIEW The PTZ controls within the DVR allow for powerful control over the cam eras. This can be extremely benef icial by increas ing th e usefulness of t he recorded vide o. Using the PT Z controls you can creat e custom preset c onfigurations that can c ontinuously sw ee p across large areas .
69 ADVANCED PTZ SETUP Note Preset and Tour o ptions may vary depending on the camera Creating and Viewing Preset Positions A Preset Posit ion is a user-de fined loc ation where the camer a can be poi nted, zoom ed in, and focus ed. Preset pos itions can be defined and lab eled if the camer a supports t his.
70 PTZ Address Settings Some protocols support software addres s settings. The RX Addresses and ID settings are compatibl e with a particu lar line of receivers th at support 2 ID ad dresses. The PT Driver Address is ass ociated with the PTZ ID address set on the camera.
71 CONTROLLING A PTZ CAMERA The Surveillix DVRs prov ide control for a PAN/TILT /ZOOM camera in t wo different ways. The first method is to use the Grap hical PTZ Controller that appears whe n the PTZ button is clicked on t he Display sc reen. The second metho d is to use the mouse to contro l the camera direc tly from the l ive video di splay.
72 Using the On-Screen Compass 1. Click Setup on the Display sc reen. 2. Click PTZ . 3. Select the On S creen Compass ch eck box to ena ble the feature. 4. Click Apply . 5. Click Exit to return to the Dis play screen. 6. Click PTZ . 7. Control the PTZ b y dragging th e mouse on th e screen in the desired directio n.
73 PTZ Tour Schedule Create PTZ Tour Schedule 1. Click Setup on the Display sc reen. 2. Click PTZ . 3. Click Tour Schedule to open the PT Z Tour Schedule window. 4. In Single Sele ct Mode select o ne day of the we ek to create a s chedule for or toggle to Multi Sel ect Mode to select multiple days with the sa me schedule.

76 BACKUP OVERVIEW The Backup Cente r allows you to back up record ed video data fr om multipl e dates and t imes to one or m ore locations inc luding t he DVD-RW drive, Network Storage Loc ations, and Exter nal Hard Drives. The DVR can easily backup important v ideo data to an internal or extern al media locati on.
77 General Screen Overview The General Backup Scree n is used for p erforming bulk backup of video recorded by all c ameras for a se lected period, or period s, to a specified stor age locati on. Hour / Minutes Recording data di splays in hourly (2 4 horizontal c olumns) and 10- minute (6 vertic al cells) segm ents.
78 Clip Screen Overview The Clip Screen is used for back ing up video rec orded by indiv idual cameras for a selected period of time to a specifie d stora ge location Performing a Clip Backup 1. Click Backup on the Display s creen. 2. Click the Clip tab at the top of the Backup Center window.
79 Scheduled Screen Overview The Scheduled Ba ckup Screen is us ed for performin g bulk back up of video recor ded by all cameras for a sel ected period, o n a reg ular scheduled basis (1-24 hours). The Scheduled Back up Screen is simil ar to the Gener al Backup Screen.

92 EMERGENCY AGENT OVERVIEW The Emergency Agent software is a util ity that streams v ideo acro ss a Local Area Network t o a Client PC when an al arm is detec ted on the DVR. The vide o that streams across can be s topped, played forwards and b ackwards, in sl ow motion or real s peed.
93 Setup Window Network Port Indicates the port which the Emergenc y Agent uses to lis ten for incomin g events. This number sho uld be change d to the same number as is set i n the Emergency Port in Network Settings on t he DVR. Save Directory Sets the location that r ecorded video footage is saved to.
94 Add Items to Alarm Confirm List 1. From the Option menu, click Setup . 2. Type the des ired text in the box belo w the Alarm Confirmation List. NOTE: The items in the Alarm Confirmation List will be availa ble on a li st under Status Setting i n main Emergenc y Agent screen.
95 SEARCH ALARM WINDOW Export Quality It may be neces sary to reduce the ov erall size of an AVI file; for ex ample, to emai l to someone. AVI file sizes can be reduced by re ducing the image quality . However, reducing t he image qua lity causes the AVI v ideo to appear m ore pixilated.
96 REMOTE SOFTWARE OVERVIEW The DVR was specifically designed to be fully operated and maintai ned remotely. It c onnects us ing the standa rd TCP/IP protocol thorough connecti on types such as DSL, Cab le Mode, T1, ISDN, 56K Modem, LAN, a nd more.
97 Remote Software Setup Installing Remote Software 1. On the client c omputer, insert th e Surveillix Softwar e CD into the CD-R OM. The CD should play automatic ally. 2. When prompted, select the Install R emote Software option. Fol low the installati on instructions carefully.
98 Configuring the DVR In order t o access the DVR remot ely, the DVR Server must be setup to a llow remote connec tions. Time Out Value Specifies a value ( in seconds) to wa it for a signal from the Surveillix Remote Client. If a signal is not received by that time, the conn ection is dropp ed.
99 DIGITAL VERIFIER OVERVIEW JPG images and AVI video files th at are exporte d from the Digit al Video Rec order are automatica lly embedded wit h a digital s ig nature. Digital Signatures are a way to verify the authenticity of the images to ensure that they have not been tampere d with or edited in any way.
100 BACKUP VIEWER OVERVIEW The Backup View er allows you to p lay back the exported video in its proprietary format. Video sav ed in this f ormat is extre me ly difficult to tamp er with and ther efore is the ideal solutio n when law enforceme nt and the legal d epartment are inv olved.
101 SCS OVERVIEW SCS software is Network DVR Mana gement Software; a powerful utility that allows 100 or more DVRs to b e controlled usin g one computer. This s oftware allows you t o view live vide o, search sav ed video, edit an d configure s etup on each DVR, and import ma ps of buildings an d other locati ons.

Esplorando le pagine segenti del manuali d’uso Toshiba SWIP-16 imparerai tutte le caratteristiche del prodotto e le informazioni sul suo funzionamento.
