10 1 IMPOR T ANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: 1. R ead all instructions. 2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. 3. T o protect against electric shock, do not place cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
9 Descaling Special cleaning of your Coffee Maker is recommended at least once a month, depending on frequency of use and quality of water used in the unit.
8 User Maintenance Instructions This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Any servicing requiring disassembly must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician. Care and Cleaning CAUTION: Be sure to unplug this appliance before cleaning.
7 Brewing a Second P ot of Coffee As mentioned above, it is recommended that the Coffee Maker should be in OFF (O) position for 10 minutes between cycles, in order to allow unit to cool. While unit is in OFF position, dispose of used coffee grounds, rinse Carafe and dispose of #4 filter .
6 Brewing Instructions 1. Plug Coffee Maker into any 120V AC electrical outlet. 2. Fill Carafe with cold tap water and pour into W ater Chamber . Markings on the W ater Window indicate level of water required to brew desired number of cups. No less than two cups is recommended.
