Outgoing messages 16 Outgoing messages General Your tiptel 570 SD has 14 in dividual outgoing message s (OGM 1-14) and one pre- configured outgoing message (OGM 15). Yo u ca n select the OGMs via the selection button next to the OG M symb ol. OGM 15 cannot be personalised.
Outgoing messages 17 Recording an outgoing message Select the desired O GM using the selection button next to the O GM symbol. Prior pressing of allows you to browse in reverse. The selected OGM is displayed next to t he symbol on the bottom right of the display.
Outgoing messages 18 Recording OGMs from an external signal source You can also record professional outgoi ng messages via the audio input from an external signal source (e.g. cassette recor der). Select the desired O GM using the selection button next to the O GM symbol.
Outgoing messages 19 Notes for sound studios Professionally produced announcements can also be directly transferred to the device by using the memory card. In order to do so co py your announcements wi th your computer to the direct ory "TIPTEL".
Outgoing messages 20 Press OGM briefly . The OGM is played back. The playback symbol, the time that you have already heard and the number of the current OGM are displayed. The volume can be set using the control buttons (left/right). Deleting OGMs Press the selection button next to t he delete symbol speed during playback.
Answering mode 21 Answering mode Make sure that there is enough memory for new message s (max. 999). You m ay need to change the memory card or delete messages. If required select t he OGM using t he selection button next to the O GM symbol. The selected OGM is displayed next to t he symbol on the bottom right of the display.
Answering mode 22 Press answering mode again to switch off answering mode. Further incoming calls w ill not be answered. The stan dby status is displayed. If you record OGM 14 withou t the opti on to record (OGM only) when the incoming message memory is full your tiptel 570 SD switch es to this OGM automatically.
Playing back and deleting incoming messages 23 Playing back and deleting incoming messages Playing back new incoming messages Press playback. Starts playback of unhe ard incoming messages. The current number, remaining play back time and date and t ime of the incoming message are displayed.
Playing back and deleting incoming messages 24 Play back of individual messages Press 2nd function key. The display will show you the 2nd function icon. Press cursor key (up). The me ssage list will be opened. Use cursor keys to browse (up/down) for mess age to be played back.

Playback is interrupted and the display counts down or up the playback time. Deleting individual incoming messages Press the selection button next to t he delete symbol during playback.

Press the selection button next to t he record symbol speed d uring a call. The device starts to re cord. A lifted t elephone receiver is displayed so as to indicate an ongoing recording.
Mitschneiden/Personal-Info (Diktat) 28 Personal info (playback) You can record personal i nformation via the in- built microphone. Press the selection button next to t he record symbol. Wait, you will hear a short tone, a microphone is displaye d to signal ongoing recording.
Absence manager 29 Absence manager If you leave your office for a while, for example to attend a me eting, your tiptel 570 SD can inform your callers as to when you will be a vailable again.
Absence manager 30 Press stop. The setting is complete, the LED in the answering mode button lights up and the display shows the absence time. Calls are answered and th e caller hears the absence message. Press Answer mode to end the absence manager ahead of time.
Call list 31 Call list The last 50 calls received are saved in c all li st with their date and time. If the caller's telephone number is tr ansferred during a ca ll then this is also displayed. If the telephone number matches one from the telephone b ook, the caller's name is displayed.
Call list 32 To delete an entry press the selection button next to the de lete symbol. The entry is deleted. 2s To delete the whole call list press t he selection button next to the delete symbol fo r 2 seconds. The entire call list is deleted. To exit the list press stop.
Telephone book 33 T elephone book General The telephone book manages the names an d telephone numbers of your business partners. You can save up to 200 entries.
Telephone book 34 If required change occupancy of the entry buttons by pressing the control button (up) (refer to "Summary of possible symbols" t able). The display shows the possible occupancies: (ABC) = Capital letters (abc) = Small letters (12!?) = Number s and spec ial characters .
Telephone book 35 Enter the first digit of the call number using the control buttons (up/down). Digits and special symbols are disp layed. The special symbols have the fo llowing meanings: ~ = Wait for dial tone / 3 Sec.

Telephone book 38 Personal OGM (call filter) You can assign each entry in the telepho ne book to one of the fourteen individual, recordable OGMs. If the telephone numb er calling matches the entry the caller hears an OGM that is specially recorded fo r him.
Telephone book 39 Set the desired OGM using the control buttons (up or down). The numbers 1 to 14, none and a dash appear in the display. If you se lect "none" t he answering machine does not switch itself on automatically for this entry. The function is switched off using the dash.
Telephone book 40 2x Press the selection button next to t he sub-menu symbol twice. The display shows the current ringing t one. Set the desired ringing tone using t he control buttons (up or down). The numbers 1 to 14 and a dash appear in the display.

Telephone book 42 Holding a call During a call it is possible to ho ld a caller so that he can not hear what is discussed in the room. The telephone is switched to mute and the caller hears "Please hold the line" followed by a hold tune.
Telephone book 43 Y ou call someone and the numb er is engaged. "Subscriber busy" is displayed. To start automatic re-dialling press t he selection button next to the re- dial symbol. After the pre-set time the dialling is repeated up to 10 times.
Message function 44 Message function The message function enables a caller th at knows the messa ge code to leave a message even if your tiptel 570 SD play s an OGM w ith no option to leave an incoming message. The message func tion en ables the caller to skip the OGM for OGMs that give the option of leaving an ICM.
Remote access 45 Remote access You can access your tiptel 570 SD remotely from anywhere in th e world using t he keypad on a tone-enabled ( DTMF) telephone. Yo u need a personal remote acc ess code to access the phone remotely. You ca n set your personal remote access code as described in "Settings" (Page 94).
Remote access 46 Remote access functions Playback ICM function To playback all ICM Press 3. The playback starts with the first recording. To playback new ICM Press 2. Starts playback of recor dings that have not yet been listened to. Repeat Press 5 during playback.
Remote access 47 Switching function To switch message transfer on/off Press * and 4 in succession. The current status "on" o r "off" is announced. To switch timer on/off Press * and 3 in succession. The current status "on" o r "off" is announced.

Short messages (SMS) 50 Shor t messages (SMS) The SMS service allows you to send or receive SMS messages to other terminals. The messages are not transferred directly to the other terminal but instead are sent to your network operator's message ce ntre.
Short messages (SMS) 51 Registering and de-registering with your message centre You have to register your tiptel 570 SD fo r your network operator's SMS service to receive fixed network SMS. In Germany, for example, you can reach the Deutsche Telekom message centre nationally by calling " 0193010 ".
Short messages (SMS) 52 Templates ............................... You can create up to 5 different templates, change or delete old templates. Each template can be copied to the outbox. Message centre ..................... Enter the number for th e message centre here.
Short messages (SMS) 53 Press the selection button next to "Inbox". The inbox is displayed. Y ou can scroll through individual entries using the control buttons (up/down). New, unread messages are marked with an arrow. 2s To copy a message to th e t emplates press the corresponding selection button for two seconds.
Short messages (SMS) 54 2s To delete the message press the selection button next to the de lete symbol for 2 seconds. The message is deleted. To exit the menu press stop. As soon as you receive a message (SMS ) you will hear an acoustic signal and you have th e option of reading t h e SMS directly by pressing the corresponding selection button.
Short messages (SMS) 55 Y ou can scroll through the existing messages using the control buttons (up/down). 2s To delete the outbox press the selection button next to the de lete symbol for 2 seconds. The outbox is deleted. To edit the text press the selection button next to the desi red line.
Short messages (SMS) 56 Y ou can insert a character by pressing the contro l button (down). An empty space is inse rted to the left of t he cursor. To delete an entry move the cursor t o the location and press the selection button next to the de lete symbol.
Short messages (SMS) 57 Press control button (right) to change to the next entry locatio n. The cursor to the next e ntry location. Use the control button (left) to move the cursor once p lace backwards, for example to overwrite a digit. The cursor moves to the left.
Short messages (SMS) 58 Templates Here you can save up to 5 templates that yo u can edit, d elete or copy to the outbox individually. Open the message menu as described in "Inbox" and "Out box". The messages menu is displayed. Press the selection button next to "Templates".
Short messages (SMS) 59 Message centre Enter the telephone number for your message centr e here (e.g. Deutsche Teleko m 0193010). If you are using the device in a diffe rent country or netw ork, your network operator will tell you the call number of your messag e centre.
Timer 60 Timer The timer functio n contains up to 10 swit ching times during which answering mode, outgoing messages, message tr ansfer and call forwarding can be switched on /off or changed. Setting options for timer Switching time ..................
Timer 61 Programming timer Press menu. The main menu is displayed. Press the selection button next to t imer. The entry field for the first switching time is displayed. Y ou can search the individual switching times using t he control buttons (up/down).
Timer 62 Use the two lower selection buttons and the control buttons (left/right) t o find what needs to be changed in t he selected time. The symbols have the following meanings: = Answering mode = OGM = Message transfer = Call forwarding Make the desired settings using the control buttons (up or down).
Timer 63 Switching on timer Press timer. The display sh ows a clock as the sy mbol for activated timer. The timer sets the current funct ional status. Press timer again to switch off t imer.

Individual ringing tone 69 Individual ringing tone If you want to select a different ringing to ne from the sta ndard one on the telephone you can record up to 14 different ringing tones here. It is not possible to cha nge ringing tone 15 because it is pre-config ured.
Individual ringing tone 70 Press the selection button next to "Ringing tone" and select it using t he control buttons (up/down). The numbers 1 to 15 an d "-" appear in t he display. The indivi dual ringing tone is switched off using the "-".
Call forwarding 71 Call for warding If your telephone network or PABX sup port s the "call forward ing" function you can enter the required setti ngs here. Then you only have to e nter the times for which you want to activate call forwarding i n the "timer".
Call forwarding 72 Press menu. The main menu is displayed. Search for the "Call fo rwarding" entry using the control buttons (up/down). Press the selection button next to "Call forwar ding". The call forwarding menu is shown in the display.

The record ing stops au tomatically when you replace the receiver. You can decide whether to record all calls or only incomi ng calls (recording threatening calls).

Additio nal information on eac h appointment facilitates assignment. If an a ppointment is due this is indicated via the display and notified by an acoustic signa l.
Appointments 78 Press the selection button next to t he time/date for the desired appointment. The cursor is at hours. Set the desired appointment time using the control buttons (up/dow n, left/right). When setting the date you can distinguish between one- off, daily, monthly and annual appointments.
Appointments 79 Example: You require "M ". Press forwarding button three times (the "M" is in the third position on this button). Press control button (right) to change to the next entry locatio n. The cursor to the next e ntry location.
Security lock 80 Security lock In order to protect your tiptel 570 SD from unauthoris ed use you can loc k the device with a PIN (personal identifica tion number ). The PIN is number containing 1 to 4 digits. You must ente r this PIN to unlock the device.
Security lock 81 Select the next or previous entry location using the control buttons (left/right). The cursor is locate d at the selected entry point. After entry press the selection button next to PIN. The device displays the choice of "Lock device" or "Change PIN".
Security lock 82 Unlocking device Use the control buttons to enter the PIN. The display shows th e current setting. After entry press the selection button next to PIN.
Alarm dialler 83 Alarm dialler The selection is ac tivated by closing an external, potential contact. The c ontact must be closed for at least one second .
Alarm dialler 84 Settings for alarm dialler Press menu. The main menu is displayed. Search for the "Alar m dialler" entry using the control buttons (up/down). Press the selection button next to alarm dialler. The alarm dialler menu is shown in the display.

There is also the option of transfe rring the telephone book from one tiptel 570 SD to another via the audio sockets.
Service menu 99 Search for the desired function using the control buttons (up/down). All service menu functi ons are displayed. Press the selection button next to t he desired function and follow the displayed instructions.
Accessories 100 Accessories Headset You can use the headset to listen to messages w ithout disturbing other people in the room. At the same time you have the option of recording OGMs and information using the integrated microphone. You can also make calls with the headset.
Accessories 101 Foot pedal You can order the foot pedal accessory using Item Number 1125250. You can use the foot pedal to operate the play back fu nctions using your feet ; your hands are free for example to enter orders directly into your PC. The following functions are available: Playback/stop, rewind and fast forward.

As a result of tech nical differences in various countries however th ere is no unlimited guara ntee that the device will work successfully in any telephone connection.
