4 Chapter 1. Introduct ion C ongratulati ons on becoming a new user of Acer Multi-functional MP3/Storage Drive , the fi nely designed portabl e digital audio player. Your new Acer Multi-functional MP3/Stor age Drive will improve the conveni ence of storing your pers onal data and the enjoyment of using various audio functions.
5 Language Learning Function – enabl es users to lis ten to a pa rticular limited playback rep eatedly during no rmal playbac k. With this function, users will be abl e to pay more concentration on the repeated playback and to ac hieve the resul t of learning language.
6 Chapter 2, Getting Started, introduces the function keys on the Drive, an d tells you how to insert an AAA battery into the batter y container located on the back of the Drive. Chapter 3, Basic Usage, describes how to use your new MP3/Sto rage Drive in a various way.

11 Insert a Battery 1. Remove the U SB connector cap 2. Slide open t he battery cov er. 3. Insert an AAA battery and make sure th e battery is inserted into the correct alig nment. 4. Slide back the battery cov er. 5. Press the Play/Pause 「 」 button to check the capacity of the battery.

13 Hold Switch This MP3/Stor age Drive pro vides a Hold Switch, which is located on the side of the Drive for p reventing any miss touching while the Drive is recording or playing. Once the hold switch is slide to the lock positi on, all function key s on the Drive will be disabled instantly.
14 Chapter 3. Basic Usage Connecting the MP3/Storage Dr ive to Your Computer 1. Remove the U SB connector cap. 2. Plug one end of the suppli ed USB cable to your computer, and pl ug the other end to t he MP3/ Storage D rive. Th en press th e Play/Pause 「 」 button to start connection.
15 Hardware Installation for Windows 98SE only For Windows 98SE operatio n system, it will automaticall y detect the new hardware wh en the MP3/ Storag e Drive is firs t connected to you r computer. Please follow the following inst ructi ons to install the dri ver for this MP3/Storage Drive.

18 Power On and Off 1. Press the Play/Pause 「 」 butto n once to turn the pow er on. 2. To power off th e USB Device, press and hold the Play/Pause 「 」 button until the power is switch ed off.
19 Editing Sound Tracks (Files) 1. Press the Play/Pause 「 」 button to power on the MP3/Sto rage Drive. If there is no sound track added in th e memory of this drive, you will read the m assage as belo w on the scre en.
20 Note: Do not disconnect th e MP3/Stor age Drive fro m the computer while the file transferring is still on going, otherwis e it may cause some system failure. 6. Under th e MP3/St orage Driv e, you are allowed to add, delete, or edi t a folder as what you will do under a disk as usual.
21 Music Playback Normal Playback 1. Press the Play/Pause 「 」 butto n to play the curr ent selected fil e. 2. During playba ck, press the Play/Pause 「 」 button again to pause the playback. Select the Nex t or Previous Track (File) 1.
22 Fast-Forward or Rewind 1. During playba ck, push the Menu button to the ri ght and hold th e position to fast-forward the curren t track. 2. Or, push the Menu button to the left and hold the position to rewind the current tra ck. Volume Adjusting 1.
23 2. Press down t he Menu button once and then pu sh the Menu button to select DEL MUSIC. 3. All of the stored file will be displayed by sequence, switch the Menu button to the right or to th e left to selec t Yes to delet e the file show n on the Display, or select No to skip to the next file, or select EXIT to leave the cu rrent scr een.
24 3. Once you read DEL ALL MUSIC on the screen, press down th e Menu button, and then select Y to delete all music file s. Note that it may take several seconds to delete all the files.
25 EQ Settings While you are listening to the music, you are allowed to choose a desired EQ mode to meet your personal need or habit. 1. Press down t he Menu button once, and then push the Menu button to the right three tim es, and now you sh ould read the me ssage of SETTINGS appear ing on the Display.
26 Repeat Settings While you are playing music or voice files, you are allow ed to select a desired playback setting from NORMAL , REPEAT ONE, REPEA T ALL, SHUFFLE, and SHUFFLE REP.
27 FM Radio Mode Select FM Radio Mode 1. Press and h old th e Fn button located on the side of the MP3/Sto rage Drive for one second to s elect FM Mode. 2. Or, you can press down the Menu button once, and then push the Menu button to the ri ght twice.
28 4. If you do not read the message of FM RADIO on the Disp lay, please keep pushi ng the Menu button the to right until FM RADIO app ears. Select FM Stat ion 1. Once the FM Radi o Mode is selected, use th e Menu button by pushing it to the right or to the left to sel ect the desired s tation.
29 3. Switch the Menu button to the ri ght or to the lef t to select a desi red favorite s tation number. 4. Now, press the Menu butto n again to sav e the selec ted fre quency to the selected f avorite stati on number. 5. To set anoth er favori te station, re peat step 1 to 4.
30 2. Press and h old th e REC 「 y 」 bu tton located next to the Fn button fo r 2 seconds, and th en releas e the REC 「 y 」 button. 3. Once the REC 「 y 」 button is long pressed and then rel eased, th e selected station frequency will now start being recorded.

Switch from FM mode to Music Playback mode Please press Fn button to leave FM mo de, and bac k to Music playback mode again.
34 Voice Recording This MP3/Stor age Drive also works as a synchronizin g recorder. You can use it to record your own voice, an interview or a speech , and so on.
35 6. On the Display, users now should read th at a recording file is generated and place und er the fold er of [ /VOICE/ ]. The recording file name sequence starts from [ V001.
36 Play a Recorded Voice File 1. To play a reco rded voice file , press down the Menu button onc e, and then push the Menu button to the ri ght once, and now you sh ould read the messag e of VOICE a ppearing on th e Display.
37 2. Press down t he Menu button once and then push the Menu button to the right to se lect DEL VOICE. 3. All of the recorded fil e will be displayed by sequenc e.

45 Other Settings Backlight Under this Backligh t setting, you ar e able to set a ti me to turn off th e backlight of the LCD Display automatically. 1. Press down t he Menu button once, and then push the Menu button to the right three tim es, and now you sh ould read the me ssage of SETTINGS appear ing on the Display.
46 4. When a sel ection is decided, press down the Menu button onc e to confirm the se lection. Contrast Under this Contrast setting, you are ab le to set the cont rast of the LCD Display. Under this Backligh t setting, you ar e able to set a ti me to turn off th e backlight of the LCD Display automatically.
