XT185 T readmill 2 IMPORT ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS W ARNING - Read all instructions before using this appliance. DANGER - T o reduce the risk of electric shock disconnect your Spirit treadmill fr om the electrical outlet prior to cleaning and/or service work.
XT185 T readmill 3 WARNING! NEVER use a ground fault cir cuit interrupt (GFCI) wall outlet with this treadmill. As with any appliance with a lar ge motor , the GFCI will trip often. Route the power cord away fr om any moving part of the treadmill including the elevation mechanism and transport wheels.
XT185 T readmill 4 NEVER operate this treadmill without r eading and completely understanding the results of any operational change you r equest from the computer . Understand that changes in speed and incline do not occur immediately . Set your desired work level on the computer console and r elease the adjustment key .
XT185 T readmill 5 !!A TTENTION: IMPORT ANT UNP ACKING INSTRUCTIONS. PLEASE READ BEFORE UNP ACKING YOUR FOLDING TREADMILL!! Serious injury could occur if this folding treadmill is not unpacked pr operly . There is a V elcro strap installed ar ound the treadmill base that pr events the treadmill from unfolding accidentally during shipping.
XT185 T readmill 6 1. T ake the Left and Right upright tubes (part numbers 5 & 4 ) and slide the upright covers ( 99 & 100 right) onto the tubes (observe the cover orientation is correct). Connect the Middle Console Cable ( 38 ) that exits from the bottom of the right upright tube with the lower Console Cable ( 39 ).

XT185 T readmill 8 1. Connect the Speed Adjustment Switch Cable ( 128 ) to the Speed Cable (Upper)( 126 ). Connect 2. the Incline Adjustment Switch Cable ( 129 ) to the Incline Cable (Upper)( 127 ). Connect the Computer Cable (Middle)( 37 ) to the Computer Cable (Upper)( 38 ).
XT185 T readmill 9 1. Attach the Console Covers (Left - 99 ) and (Right - 100 ) to the console ( 6 ) with ten Sheet Metal Screws ( 89 ) using the Phillips Head Scr ew Driver ( 122 ).
XT185 T readmill 10 Do not attempt to move the unit unless it is in the folded and locked position. Be sure the power cord is secur ed to avoid possible damage. Use both handrails to maneu- ver the unit to the desired position. TO FOLD THE TREADMILL Make certain the treadmill is at minimum incline.
XT185 T readmill 11 FEA TURES Y ou are able to set your speed and incline settings quickly by using the quick keys on the console. Just press either Speed or Incline, then select either 1 or 2 digits and the treadmill will automatically adjust to that value.
XT185 T readmill 12 OPERA TION OF YOUR CONSOLE GETTING F AMILIAR WITH THE CONTROL P ANEL XT185 CONSOLE Power the treadmill on by plugging it into an appr opriate wall outlet, then turn on the power switch located at the front of the tr eadmill below the motor cover .
XT185 T readmill 13 STEP 1: Press and r elease the Start key to wake display up (if not already on). Note: Installing the tether key will also wake up the console. STEP 2: Press and r elease the Start key to begin belt movement, at .5 mph, then adjust to the desired speed using the + / - or Fast / Slow keys.
XT185 T readmill 14 The 1/4-mile track (one lap) will be displayed around the dot matrix window . The ashing segment indicates your progr ess. Once the 1/4-mile (Metric - 0.4k) is complete this feature will begin again. Ther e is a lap counter in the message window for monitoring your distance.
XT185 T readmill 15 PROGRAMMABLE FEA TURES SELECT A PRESET PROGRAM The XT 185 offers ve factory pr eset-programs and one Manual pr ogram. Each pre- set program has a maximum Speed and Incline level that is displayed when a de- sired workout is chosen.
XT185 T readmill 16 Hill Resistance: This program follows a triangle or pyramid type of gradual pr ogression fr om approximately 10% of maximum effort (the level that you chose befor e starting this p.
XT185 T readmill 17 Strength Resistance: This program has a gradual pr ogression of speed up to 100% of maximum ef fort that is sustained for 25% of workout duration. This will help build strength and muscular endurance in the lower body and gluts. A brief cool down follows.

XT185 T readmill 20 GENERAL MAINTENANCE Y our treadmill uses a very high-efcient low-friction deck. Performance is maximized when the deck is kept as clean as possible. Use a soft, damp cloth, or paper towel, wipe the edge of the belt and the area between the belt edge and the frame.
XT185 T readmill 21 The treadmill is designed so that the tr ead-belt remains r easonably centered while in use. It is normal for some belts to drift near one side while in use, depending on a user’ s gait and if they favor one leg. But if during use the belt continues to move toward one side, adjustments ar e necessary .
XT185 T readmill 22 Do not lubricate with other than Spirit approved lubricant. Y our treadmill comes with one tube of lubricant and extra tubes can be order ed directly fr om Spirit or your authorized Spirit dealer . There ar e commercially available lube kits, but the only one currently appr oved by Spirit is Lube-N-W alk.
