5 Machine Head Operation Safety Indicators and meters: M ACHINE H EAD is equipped wit h PPM dis pla y s f or input and output lev els . T he first LED of eac h input and output meter is a signal (S IG .) LED w hic h illuminates w hen a c ompatible digital data s tream is present at t he inputs .

Any additional c hannel, status and user -bits are passed t hrough unaltered, and t he outputs can be used at the same time if required.

10 Machine Head O UTPUT G AIN varies t he output level of t he digit al data s tream. It is varia ble betw een -12 dB and +12 dB in 0.1 dB steps . T he adjus ted O UTPUT G AIN value is shown in t he L C-dis pla y (see 7) and in t he O UTPUT PPM meter (see 8).
