4 Getting Started Step 1 Unpacking Check that you have received the following items with the VCR: • Remote commander • Size AA (R6) batteries • Audio/video cable (3-phono to 3- phono) ( SL V -L6.

Getting Started 23 Getting Started Automatic clock setting Once you ’ ve set up the VCR, it automatically sets the clock the first time you turn of f the VCR. After that, whenever you turn off the VCR, it checks the time and adjusts the clock, even for Daylight Saving T ime.

25 Getting Started Getting Started Setting the clock Using the Auto Clock Set feature Sony Entertainment T elevision (SETV) transmits time signals with its broadcasts. If the cable TV station in your area br oadcasts SETV and transmits these time signals as is, your VCR can pick up these time signals to automatically set the clock.

49 Additional Operations T o r esume normal playback Pr ess · PLA Y . Using the shuttle ring (SL V -L89HF CL/CS/MX/VZ only) W ith the shuttle ring, you can operate a variety of playback options. There are two ways for using the shuttle ring, normal mode and jog mode.
50 Additional Operations T o use the shuttle ring in jog mode Use this mode for frame-by-frame playback. Pr ess JOG to enter the jog mode. The JOG button lights up. If you change to jog mode during any playback mode, playback pauses so you can see a still pictur e.

54 Additional Operations Recor ding TV pr ograms using the dial timer The Dial T imer function allows you to make timer recor dings of programs without turning on your TV . Set the recor ding timer to recor d up to eight pr ograms that will be broadcast within the next 24 hours using the DIAL TIMER.
