51 Additional Operations Recor ding TV pr ogrammes using Dial Timer The Dial T imer function allows you to make timer recor dings of programmes without turning on your TV . Set the recording timer to recor d up to eight programmes that will be broadcast within the next 24 hours using DIAL TIMER.

Additional Operations 58 How sound is recor ded on a video tape The VCR recor ds sound onto two separate tracks. Hi-fi audio is recorded onto the main track along with the picture. Monaural sound is r ecorded onto the normal audio track along the edge of the tape.
59 Additional Operations Sear ching using the Smart Sear ch function If you recor d multiple programmes on a tape, use the Smart Search function to see what has been recor ded on your tape. Y ou can see information such as date, time, and channel of programmes recor ded on a tape.

Editing 70 Audio dubbing This feature lets you r ecord over the normal audio track. The monaural sound previously r ecorded is replaced while the original hi-fi sound remains unchanged. Use this feature to add commentary to a tape that you have recor ded with a camcorder .
