Connecting a Power Source 9 Using Battery Power Y ou can use a battery pack as a source of power . The PCGA-BPZ51 battery pack that comes with your computer is not fully charged at the time of pur chase. Follow the steps below to insert and char ge the battery pack.

T o in sert a PC card 1 Pull the PC card release button up away from the computer and push it in towards the computer .
Using PC Cards 35 2 Remove the PC car d slot protector . 3 Insert the PC card into the PC car d slot, front label facing up. Gently push the car d into the slot until the card is fixed into the connector . The release button comes out. ✍ Do not force a card into the slot.

Using Smart Connect 37 Using Smart Connect The preinstalle d Smart Connect softwar e allows you to use an i.LINK cable (not supplied) to connect your V AIO Z505 SuperSlim Pro notebook to another V AIO computer that also has Smart Connect. Y ou can then use one computer to copy , delete, and edit files on the other computer .

Y ou can use this port to communicate with other infrar ed- equipped devices with compatible protocols, such as a digital still camera or other computers.
Using Infrared Communicat ion Devices 39 Check the Status tag of the Infr ared Monitor in the Windows Control P anel to determine if the infrared device is detected. If the two devices are too far apart or too close t ogether , data transfer may be interrupted or there may be noise in the transm ission.

Using Power Saving Modes 41 System Suspend Mode The computer saves the curr ent state of the system in RAM and switches off power to the CPU. The tan power indicator light flashes in this mode. T o activate System Suspend mode Press Fn+Esc. Y ou can also use the PowerPanel utility to enter System Suspend mode.
