20 Recor ding an MD right away! This sect ion expl ains the bas ic procedure for making digi tal recordi ngs using an op tical cable connected to a CD player , Digital TV or other digital eq uipment. F or other re cording oper ations, see “V arious w ays of record ing” (page 27).

32 Using Auto Time Mark to add track marks w hile recording When the elapsed recording time exceeds the time in terv al for Auto Time Mar k: The reco rder adds track mark s at the poi nt you set th e time interv al and fro m that point th e recorder adds a track mark whene ver the time interv al has elaps ed.

44 Using th e gro up fun ction What is the gr oup function? The grou p function is pr ovide d t o allo w playba ck of discs wi th group setting s. The group fu nction is convenient fo r playback of MD s on which several albums or CD sing l e s ha ve been r ec orded in MDLP (LP2/L P4) m od e.

81 What is a Net MD? Net MD is a stand ard tha t enables th e transf er of audio data from a compute r to a MiniDisc de vice. T o use this Net MD wi th your computer requires a so ftware applic ation called “Son icSt age”.

92 T ransferring audio data from your computer to the Net MD (Check-out) Audi o da ta stored on the M usic Drive can be tran sf erred to yo ur N et MD. This proce ss is called “ C heck-out”. The n umber of times a tr ack can be checke d out is re stricted in this soft ware f or the pr otect ion of c opyri ghts (p age 110).
