15 Getting star ted Charg e the rechar geable batte ry before usi ng. Even if the rechar geable battery is not cha rged, you can use the recorder as lo ng as the A C powe r adaptor is con nected. 1 Inser t the rechargeable batter y . e E Insert the rec harge able batter y minu s end fi rst.

19 Recording an M D right away! (Synchr o-recor ding) This sect ion expla ins the ba sic proc edure for m aking di gital recordin gs using an optic al cable conn ected to a CD player , Digit al TV or other digital equi pment. F or further inf ormation, see “ Sy stem limit ations ” ( page 77 ).

21 T o stop recording, flip the control bar towards x . After you flip the bar towards x to stop, the recorde r will auto maticall y turn off in about 10 second s (when us ing batteries) or about 3 mi nutes (when usin g AC po we r adaptor ).
22 T o know the recording condition The REC LED lights up or flashes accord ing t o the rec ordi ng cond ition. About the DSP TYP E-R for A TRAC “ TYPE-R ” is a hi gh-level Sony speci fication used in the Di gital Signal P rocessor (DSP ), which i s heart of the M iniDis c sound.

30 Long-time recor ding (MDLP) Select each reco rding mode accordin g to the reco rding time th at you w ant. Ster eo reco rd ing is po ssib le at 2 time s (LP2) o r 4 times (LP4) the norma l (stere o) recordin g time. Mon aural record ing a t 2 tim es nor mal re cord ing time is a lso possib le .

78 A track c annot be recorde d to a n ew group. A new gr oup cannot be creat ed. Group informa tion has been written to the ar ea where the disc n ame is stored. The disc name and track na mes are recorded in the same ar ea, which ca n store a ma x imum of approximately 1,700 charac ters.
